    Alternator / generator not charging

We are in an extreme remote area so everything has to be on line. I've struck out every time I look for single conductor, stranded, tinned, Teflon jacketed wire. Marine sources are the closest with all criteria met except for the jacket. Whether for the tractors, A/UTVs, trailers...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I pulled the starter from the 'ol B7100 today. It's been a long time coming and finally wouldn't spin fast enough anymore. While my apprentise was primed and ready for action we moved to the Gator to check the glow plugs. She isn't as familiar with that machine but is highly interested.

    Alternator / generator not charging

Yup. I've been here before. Colored electrical tape tied with UV wire ties. Even then they don't last. I've always lightly soldered crimp connectors. Even though the flux is hard to fully remove its better than a plain 'ol crimped joint that gets wet/moist, etc. The best is the marine shrink...

    Alternator / generator not charging

I'm getting some expert help here. It's not rodents: Thank you so very much, Dave. This is exactly what I needed. I'm going to rewire this critter. I'm trying to find bulk spools of different jacket colors and I keep getting copper clad aluminum spools. Are there any hints for 16ga copper...

    Alternator / generator not charging

Thanks RCW. I checked all three and I couldn't get a diagram from any of these sites. I can "sound it out," it just takes a bunch of extra time.

    Alternator / generator not charging

Hi Folks. I need to revisit this old subject. First, my charging system has not been working for a few years. When parked, I plug it in to a maintainer so it will start the next time. After starting there is really nothing drawing anyway so not a problem. The real charging problem is probably...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

Yup, This is 'perfect.' (sorry) I'm not looking forward to pulling those cylinders out again. But it would be worth it before things get yet worse (worser, sounds terrible)? The center pin is in good shape judging from play. I've kept everything very well greased. Actually more than well...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

Here's another question on the B670 backhoe (and I suspect others): The swing cylinders are pressurized on the back side only. The front side is open to the air. That means condensation or whatever can build up. The end cap is drilled through to vent the air on that side but is a source for...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

What a hoot. Got the rebuilt cylinder in place and the new hoses. Fired it up and began to actuate the cylinders to purge the air. When I did the bucket a hose blew. And it blew in just the right place to spray me directly. Fortunately I wear glasses. This seems to be the project that just keeps...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

No Sir, I don't have the manual. I don't want to trouble you for that project but if you are available to ping if I have a question in the future that would suffice. I've had the tractor for 30 years and the backhoe for 27 and there's been very few times I actually needed the documentation. I...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

Dang, thank you SO much. Its the reaction action (retraction of the cyclinder) - as if you drove forward with the bucket in a hole so you don't blow a line.

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

Folks, I screwed up. It took so long to get the rebuilt cylinder back that I can't recall the hose connections. There is an over-pressure valve between the operators legs. I can't recall if that was protection for the extension or retraction. I was going to diagram it but I thought it wasn't...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

Believe it or not there *is* a specialty hydraulic shop in the area. In fact they opened a 2nd shop about equidistant to me in a small town and the newspaper did a BIG news feature about the big grand opening. All they really do is make hoses - from the service truck. Anything else goes to the...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

(rolling eyes.) Ain't not way where we live. There is a CAT dealer an hour away but they won't screw with a Kubota. They're parts swappers and only want big stuff unless you're buying a hose or O-ring. I continued pondering a place to put depreciated implement ready for recycling. What a...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

This is a curious issue. I'm sure I can find a cylinder with that diameter and stroke. But a cylinder with with that OEM yoke is a specialty as would be a threaded ram to accept the fashioned OEM yoke. Note that no break down shows the unit's threaded yoke as a separate item. I don't have...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

Darned if I didn't do it again - working in a cramped space and backed into a tree in low range. You'd think I had time to watch but I had to watch the bucket and trench. But popped the yoke off again again.... Its time for a new cylinder. I looked up the part: 70050-00003 But my GOSH! $850 to...

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

And here is post 6. Just to be safe I always try to exceed minimum requirements. It almost always works except when the wife is involved. So here is the picture. Yeah, I slipped with the hand grinder and hit the hard chrome but it's still above the seal when retracted:

Thanks for that hint. Here is post 5 - hopefully replies count. I'll know in a moment.... (wink)

    B670 backhoe boom cylinder

On the B219 loader you are correct. The yokes are welded directly to the ram. But for Lil Foot, the B670 backhoe is different. There is a definite rim and "hub" extending from the ram. The hub/extension is definitely undersized by a bit and not hard chromed like the ram. Boom and dipper...
