I think it dropped simply because you did run the tractor for a long period and cleared the soot from the exhaust. I work in a heavy truck garage and can say the trucks that get driven harder go through less regens then those that get driven on slow short multiple stop routes.

I have the 60" on my 2601. I run in medium range 4x4 no issues when doing gravel maintenance. It will pull a full box of gravel just fine.

I bought my 2601 in October. I have two dealers nearby, 1- 20 miles to the east the other 20 miles to the west. There was $4000 difference between the two for the exact same setup. I would say yes there is most definitely wiggle room.
