    Dealer Support Birmingham, Al Help!

Late to the party but, I’ll post this to help someone else in the future. I had great results with the dealer in Tuscaloosa and would recommend them. Good luck with your “new” tractor!

Military Veterans Thread and other 1 Delta 10 Tango stuff.

There is a minimum score to serve without a degree. Frankly, a high school degree today doesn’t indicated a minimum level of intelligence. It’s despicable what our schools are turning out. I met a couple guys in my basic training squadron whose future jobs in the USAF was going to be cooks...

Military Veterans Thread and other 1 Delta 10 Tango stuff.

In 1977, it was said that the Airman’s Club at Sheppard Air Force base sold more beer in a single night than anywhere else in Texas except for the Houston Astrodome when it was open. The beer was cheap and the bands were great….every single night. Kind of glad that I was only there for about 5...

A short story about what happens when you're drinking on Black Friday.............One man, his Kubota, and a lever

Good job, great score! When we built our house, the plans called for 2 x double doors in the living room. For a variety of reasons, one set was removed and the builder framed the remaining one on the wrong side of the room. When he sent me pictures, I quickly pointed that out and that error...

Military Veterans Thread and other 1 Delta 10 Tango stuff.

When I went active duty right after high school, it was an insanely unpopular path to take. We were only a year or so removed from the fall of Saigon and years of Vietnam didn’t help the public’s perception of the military. I got it. If things break badly, the results can be devastating for...

    “Firsts” for me

If I ever get another one, and the chances are good, it‘ll be more of a traditional one with a full size bed and without 4 full doors.

    “Firsts” for me

Truth. At our volunteer fire department meetings, I’m one of two who doesn’t drive a pickup truck. When we moved here, I sold my (fast) car for an F150 screw. Great truck, really helped with the big move. Once we were in the house and settled in, it was rarely used for “pickup truck” stuff. I...

    “Firsts” for me

No post police here! Enjoyed the comments. In some aspects ie safety, we’re way ahead of 70s and 80s. Car engines also pump out more hp per displacement also. The L2501 is fairly simple and I’m enjoying it tremendously. My buddy who lives about two miles away responded to my text last...

    “Firsts” for me

Yep, all I had to fear was fear itself. 😂 There was a time when I worked on my cars myself. As they got more complicated, the less I did. I remember changing the fuel pump on the side of I-10 when I was stationed in San Antonio. That was around 1978 when everyone I knew carried tools in...

    “Firsts” for me

I purchased an L2501 HST in June after asking for advice today. During the purchase process, the dealer noted that they sell a lot of tractors and never see them again. He noted that a good number his customers do their own maintenance. Add me to the list. Today, I removed the loader...

    Grill guard pricing

I am finding the Messick’s prices and my local dealer is essentially the same. If the local guys don’t have it, they add it to their order and when they reach a certain point, Kubota doesn’t charge shipping to them. The difference last time was the shipping, $40, that Messick wanted to...

Salesman gave me a Free Hat.

I went into the dealership a few weeks ago to buy some oil and other small items. I’ve purchased a few things like mats and a part for a landscape rake previously. ”How much are your hats,” I asked. The parts counter guy responded, “Just grab you one.” Mind you, my Kubota came from a...

Knowing what you know now, would you buy the same tractor again?

I purchased the L2501 in June. Great machine, does all that I need done and it’s perfect for my small acreage. No regret, not a single one.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I’ve got a device that’s been used for pecans and should handle walnuts. They’re not dired out enough yet - the shells flex into almost a “not-today” smile. I did manage to crack one, not a lot of meat as you noted. In the first run a few weeks ago, 10 walnuts gave me enough to flavor two bowls...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I started cleaning up the front area with my labor and the Kubota. There’s a section where the wisteria and kudu were taking over some trees and I wanted to eliminate them. After a damn hard day, I had accomplished very little and I had broken (yeah, broken) a walnut tree by pulling two vines at...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Added some bolt-on hooks from Ken. Pretty easy job. Also purchased fluids and filters for the 50 hour service that’s coming up in 10 hours. Added a vent and fan/louvers to the shop where the tractor is stored and installed a timer to keep the air reasonably refreshed. The shop has already...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

We’re just north of Opelika across the Chambers Co line. It seems I’ve driven, ridden or taken the bus between Montgomery and Brent AL on highway 82 that I could drive it blindfolded. The tree that I missed by 3 feet in 1985 still stands,

    Homestead Implements grill guard insert

Someone else who hasn’t looked. 🤣 My people! The guard already has the square holes for the included carriage bolts!

    Homestead Implements grill guard insert

For some reason, most likely laziness for not looking at the grill guard before hand, I expected to be drilling the holes myself. It was a pleasant surprise when I realized how simple the install was going to be. I’ll take easy any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
