B21 BH (BT751) off tractor servicing

Planning to reseal boom cylinder. The BH is in the "removed from tractor" position, which makes it a task to remove the boom cylinder. The swing cylinders are out as I resealed them and figure it is easier to move the boom, etc, when they are not in the way. I expect to replace the...

    FYI - Kubota cotter pin

FYI - The Kubota cotter pin, p/n 75599-53266 (7/32 x 2 1/2) that is being supplied in a sealed and labeled package is actually only 1/8 x 2 1/2. It is about half the thickness of what it is spec'd to be. I've informed the online dealer and they are looking into it. Yeah, I could get cotter...

    Tire/Wheel assembly. For Real?

pondering replacement front tire and looking at Messick and others, find Kubota #32721-50500 ASSY TIRE/WHEEL for around $200, which is more than half what the cost of a single wheel and single tire. And it comes mounted? Am I hallucinating? What tread is on that tire?

    B21 "pop/clunk". In drive line?

This may be just stupid operator. The backhoe swing cylinders are leaking and I plan to rebuild them this summer. Decided to transplant a couple of pines and the must be leaking worse now as when I checked the hydraulic fluid level it was well below add. So I topped it up and seem better...

    B21 "pop/clunk". In drive line?

It does it in 2WD. I just tested that. Leaves out the front propeller shaft entirely. I'm now thinking it must be the rear axle or differential. Cannot make it do it "on demand", such as coming to a full stop, reversing, and going forward again, or doing "jack rabbit" starts. Took it...

    B21 "pop/clunk". In drive line?

Once in a while have experienced a "pop/clunk" and a bit of a "jerk" when starting out and just rolling slowly. Could be my imagination, or being on gravel, but is seems a bit "bumpy" too. It only does it occasionally, not constantly or consistent with any particular motion, maybe when...

    Cylinder Reseal/Repair PT1

Very informative. I was rebuilding a cylinder and wanted to verify which way the lip of the seal below the wiper went in. Found it entertaining as well as informative. I was also pondering some nicks in the rod. Not bad really, but he seemed pretty down on any damage at all and I suspect...

    B21 Valve lash adjustment procedure?

While running the engine at around 2500 RPM, searching for the source of a suspected fuel leak, it seemed to me there was some "valve clatter". It may be entirely normal, this is my first Kubota, but it got me searching the WSM for a procedure and recommended service interval. Much to my...

B21 fuel leak at injector/head junction

Began noticing fuel smell while working. After a few hours shut down and noticed some dripping, found a puddle of fuel at the injector closest to the cab. Well, I call it a cab. Cleaned up, started engine ran at 2500 and watched. Puddle began to form and could see some bubbling where the...

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

That's good to know. I see then offered for pennies when I've been paying a buck a piece.

    Specs on hydraulic adapter/elbow

I'm have added a spool valve for a top and tilt and am down to the final hose routing/building. Need to find a route for the valve "Tank" return. Choices seem to be running from the rear to the front fitting on the FEL control or, to that same steel line, but where it dumps into the tank...

    B21 speed/motion control.

Looking for some photos of a bone stock the forward/reverse pedal mechanism. Mine has some "play" in there and sometimes does not completely return to neutral just from releasing the pedal. Seems to be missing the "HST damping" device that is apparently to prevent rocking too fast from fwd to...

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

Thanks for the reassurance. I see the reasoning for the washer, I had noticed they were only on the fittings with a nut and not a machined hex, but I guess just needed someone to tell me. Feel like I have learned quite a bit today. And saved some money - a Two Fer! Pretty soon I can start...

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

ORB Quick connect fitting. I want to mount it on a "bulkhead" I'll be fabricating.

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

Not long enough for a bulkhead nut. I think I have settled on how to approach this. Either use the JIC I have, with the added o-ring, or buy the ones from new-line. Probably the first and if they leak, hope they still have some in stock.

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

Thanks for your insights. The JIC to ORB adapters I bought do not have a groove (or a washer). The JIC to JIC bulkhead connector I have, on the short side, has an area of "no thread" at the hex which measures about the same as where the o-ring sits on the adapter. Pic below, o-ring...

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

OK, one more. How did you find New-Line? I searched diligently (so I thought) and came up with nothing.

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

My first reaction was . . . skeptical, for sure. Couple questions, what is a "real ORB" o-ring? I can steal the ones off the ORB adapters I have. Which bring up another question. Some of the fittings/adapters I have that purport to be ORB, do not have a washer and I was wondering about...

    Replacement for obsolete hydraulic connector?

Pretty much exactly what I want. Price is a bit steep, but, it is what I want. I did just get off the phone with a local custom fab shop and was told I could use the JIC to JIC I have and just put an o-ring on it, it would work fine and they do it a lot. Looks like there should be more to...
