    newbie fuel question

we moved my dad into assisted living, and closed up his estate. the good news: he had a massive shop. and I ended up with it (and I already had one). The bad news: no way the tractor gets in the garage for a bit. I'll do the transmission UDT fluid change later (and most likely pull the deck :)...

newbie b6200 hst hydraulic lift question

i'm new to this b6200. hst 2 wd. this site has been so great. I've only owned it a month or so, and never used the 3 pt hitch. I've mostly used the mower deck to cut the lawn. So, the only function for the hydraulic lift that I've used is to raise and lower the mowing deck. I just welded a...

    newbie fuel question

definitely worth considering next time. our driveway is gravel - no fun kneeling to pull those pins, and not easy to roll the deck out in the gravel, either. And it was 95 degrees. But that might be the way to go in the future.

    newbie fuel question

I've done it once :). two comments: 1. I have a mowing deck. So there was no flat service to place my oil pan. I grabbed an aluminum baking pan and decided to hold it. Don't do that. As it filled up, it buckled. A huge mess. In the future I think I'll use something to allow the oil to slide to...

    newbie fuel question

Got some UDT2, 3 minutes before the dealer closed. Will first try to get to get it to the right level on the stick. Then. I'll do a full service once the weather cools down. Getting there!

    newbie fuel question

thanks! a wealthy of wisdom around here. I'm out of town ... will check on return, but I think I have a screen. I bought a justrite 5 gallon can, used diesel kleen, filled up the tractor. Changed the oil (made a mess when the aluminum baking pan I used buckled in half under the weight of the...

    newbie fuel question

this is all so helpful. many thanks. We will see 18 degrees ... just not very often. Glad to have the oil mystery solved, too! Since everyone has been so helpful on fuel and oil, what about UDT? Is that a Kubota only product? And, is a gallon the smallest size? I have an HST, and it appears low...

    newbie fuel question

thank you! I'll start by keeping it filled up, and maybe getting a mr funnel. Can I ask the same question about oil? The manual says I need 10w-30 oil that meets "CC or CD" specifications, but I looked at every oil and didn't find one. Maybe it's because the instructions are more than 30 years...

    newbie fuel question

new owner of a b6200. never done diesel before. The Kubota manual calls for #2 diesel fuel. Is that the diesel I would buy at your typical gas station? I'm assuming "yes." And, do people use any additives? I hear it's important to not let the tank get too low. I can manage that. I don't want to...

    B6100E Mower Install Tutorial

I am a new b6200 owner. my mower drive belt broke, so this weekend I had to remove the mower deck (and reinstall) to replace the belt. I'm no expert, but I've done it once. You still need help? I could probably help. rick

    b6200 mower deck belt replacement

Thanks so much BruceP and Donystoy. I just finished, and your help was huge. First: it was a miserable experience. I live in NC, and it was 95 degrees. And I have a gravel driveway, which is brutal on knees and elbows. And, impatiently, I managed to break off the cotter pin that held the pin in...

    b6200 mower deck belt replacement

First time owner. b6200 HST. I've had it a month. The belt just broke while I was mowing. Requesting some basic advice: i. Is it worth it to spring for a kubota belt versus an aftermarket? ii. Is there a resource on this forum/online showing/describing how this is done? I have the manual, but it...

B6200 HST new owner - front end shake

donystoy was right! On my video, shot from the top, it appeared that the shaft didn't spin. It didn't "spin." BUT, there was enough slop in the key that the key and shaft slopped back and forth. I don't know the proper torque, but I probably put 1/2-3/4 turn on that nut/bolt. And it definitely...

B6200 HST new owner - front end shake

i have a video looking down at that joint, but I can't get it posted. I don't think the shaft or key moves while the tire does. I'll check tomorrow. I'll also look at the kubota parts diagram. thank you. rick

B6200 HST new owner - front end shake

it's the left wheel (as I'm driving). the slop isn't in the right wheel the same way. As I drive I think there is a bit of play in the steering (as evidenced by the right side), but the big wobble is on the left.

B6200 HST new owner - front end shake

reporting back in. If I look down on top of the tire, if none of the arms move, there is maybe 30-45 degrees rotation of the tire. So if I don't change the steering in anyway, and no links move, that tire is rotating around the vertical shaft that holds it on.

B6200 HST new owner - front end shake

Put it on a jack. There is a tiny bit of slop in one wheel bearing - barely. None in the other. But if I hold the steering wheel firm and move the threaded rod back and forth (see arrows on pic), there is 2 inches of slop back and forth, without the steering wheel moving, which explains why it...
