I put 9.5x22 tires on my L1501. The tractor sits a little higher than normal. And you may have to run a different gear when mowing etc.

Most equipment is geared to run at 640 RPM. This is equivalent to 1st gear on your L1500.

I was able to free my comp release cable up by removing it and pouring a rust remover down inside. Just keep working at it. I had to weld a bolt onto the handle end for something to grip. G

Those drums are pretty robust. You can hit them fairly hard. I had my local brake repair shop re-shoe and turn the drums. Now the tractor stops like it should. G

Mine had a roll pin that goes thru the same hole the zirc fitting is in. You might try to use a drift punch and see if there is a pin in there. G

The overriding clutch is what I put on my 1501-The same as your L185. It is much safer when you want to stop. G

I have a l1500, And I have a Howse rotary mower. I use 1st PTO gear with 5-6' tall grass with no problem. I use 2nd gear PTO with shorter grass, again with no problem. G

You might try Eastwood. They have some plastic repair compounds. G

Use a propane torch to heat the center of the hub. Then soak it with your favorite rust breaker. Tap it with a brass hammer. It will come loose. I took mine to a local friction supply house and they turned the drums and resurfaced the shoes for ~$104.00. Now I have brakes. G

I just go to my local NAPA store. They usualy have the correct filters in stock. As far as the ROPS go, I believe that the L175/185 will bolt right up. G
