    EA Grapple or Green Machine

I have a Titan Attachments tree and brush puller coming in Monday, and looking at this thread it occurred to me it is a grapple of sorts. At least for picking things that are vertical. I'm sure I'll find some other uses for it other then brush, can't have too many attachments as we all know!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

    Thanks Wolfman!

    Found this site today

I've had great luck with a 10' length of steel cable, 5/32" I think it was, got it for nothing off a used car lot that was being torn down. It was stung from poles to hold lights. A loop on one end, and a slip hook on the other, it would choke up very tight and almost never slipped. But it was a...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I got tired of waiting for this drift on an access road on my 40 acres to melt, so got after it. Real compacted and solid, it took the loader to break it up into manageable chunks, and took about 20 minutes. And then, I discovered for the first time, the built in shovel holder!

    Sage brush puller?!

Excellent service from Titan Attachments, I ordered over the puller over the weekend and it has been shipped! I just thought that deserved a shout out. I'll post again when I put it to work.

benefits of box blade over land plane

In the last couple days, I realized I needed to put a culvert in across a small seasonal creek that leaves a ditch, once it's hidden later in the year by tall grass, deep enough to get a truck stuck. This will give me better and easier access to 20 acres of my property, where I will touch up...

    Sage brush puller?!

Thanks guys...thinking on it over night, (after sending my CC info off) I think I made the right decision. I would have built one but don't have the time right now and want to do this project, pull sage, NOW, not mid summer. And the price seemed reasonable for something that will be working 5...

    Sage brush puller?!

I went from the raw idea of some kind of an implement to pull sage brush, (thinking I'd have to home brew something) then to getting educated on what is already on the market to do just that, then watching YouTube videos (search "tree pullers" to ordering it, all in about 3 hours. And all while...

    Sage brush puller?!

I don't want to disturb 5' wide patches of earth with every brush pull. I want to clamp the brush and then pull more or less straight up. I like everything about the Titan Attachments puller, but looking at it is hard to tell if after you pull the brush, will you have to jump out to get it out...

    Sage brush puller?!

Here's a home made one, I think I'm on the right track.https://www.bigiron.com/Lots/HomemadeHydraulicTreePuller And now they are everywhere...

    Sage brush puller?!

For some years I have used my tractor to pull up sage brush, I just spent 3 hours doing so today. But it's slow, each time I have to get off, rig the heavy rope with a slip hook around the base of the brush, get back on, pull ahead until it rips up, and then get back off to unrig. It gets old...

How do you fill your tank?

I too have noticed lately that 5 gallons of anything seems to weigh more now! Same with the 80 pound bags of concrete dry mix. This same topic often comes up when refueling small airplanes in the field. I pump it electrically, the container stays on the ground, and I let a high flow fuel pump...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Ha! RANS S-7S with numerous STOL mods. The 16% grade helps. 5640' ASL. It's short, but narrow.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got the 400' runway fertilized (first time doing that...but I put in an underground sprinkler system last year, so now am going all out) and then gave it the spring raking.

Add weight to tires or not?

Wiper fluid in the rears of my L3301. When I bought it new, I couldn't believe how badly it needed it! Just driving it around with the FEL and nothing on the rear, the slightest unevenness made it tippy, I actually thought something was broke, that bad! Of course a rear implement changes...

    Safety of zero turn mowers

I have told this story before, but it's worth repeating it: a 95 year old pilot friend, with 2000 hours of combat flying Corsairs off a flat top in the Pacific. Then 50 years of crop dusting. THEN 14 years of Super Cub flying on his Nevada ranch. Not a scratch in all of that....then his right...

Another Safety Issue—- Seat Switch Deactivated?

Same here, gone the first day. No thanks nanny state, I'm a big boy now! Also, my ROP have never been unfolded, as it's height would preclude me parking it in the outbuilding that I do. Even folded in half it'd be of some use in a roll over though.

I wonder about new Kubota tractors...

I put up with my 2 year old L3301's regen BS, because I have to, and I otherwise like having a new tractor. But my 2007 Mack powered 30 ton boom truck, what I make my living with, is pre emissions (and trouble free, even with LOTS of idling) and for sure worth more on the used market because of...

    FEL snow plow?

I have a front hydraulic adjustable blade on my L 3301, and it, combined with the rear blower, makes for an awesome combo! I finally bought chains last year, for all fours, as I am on a mountain and besides the slopes, we get an ice buildup later in the season. The chains mean I can go slower...

    picker

I saw this extendable picker on a mini loader while I was doing crane work on a new fertilizer plant. Scaled down a bit for a smaller tractor type use, it'd be pretty handy, and dirt simple to fabricate.
