    Kubota bounces down the road

My 4701 with ag tires bounces on our one-lane dirt county road. I learned to just slow down. Bounce gone now.

    L4701 oil change

For my tractor, which happens to be a 4701 but used to be a couple other models, I change once a year, oil and filter. Usually put about 70 hr a year on it, but would change even if I used it less than that. Get those acids and etc. out of the oil with some fresh stuff.

Tell me what NOT to do!

When I bought my first tractor, mid-90s, dealer took me to the back lot and showed me two Kubotas that were a real mess. Each had rolled over, one down a hillside an the other down into a creekbed. Both drivers lived and were ok, and both were wearing the seat belt. Might want to consider making...

Dealer warns front axle will wear out if left in 4x4

I am on my third Kubota in 30 years and live where roads are dirt and driveways gravel and the slopes steep. In the mountains, in other words. Each of my tractors, bought new, went into 4WD when the delivery truck set them on the [dirt/gravel] ground and did not leave 4WD until a truck picked...

Took used oil and coolant to Advanced Auto

My Kubota dealer accepts used oil. I've never taken it there, but every time I buy oil they remind me.

Lifting 5gal cans of diesel fuel a problem

I don't struggle with the full 5-gal cans anymore, standing up on the tractor trying to keep the can balanced and not running fuel across the hood. Couple years ago, neighbor moved out and gave me two new diesel 5-gal cans. Now I have five. So, I just fill them to 3 gallons instead of 5. Yes, I...

    Sanity check on L2350 price

Sounds like a really decent deal....

    Caught Fire!

This is a good lesson for me...I never think to check under the hood for birds. I do on the small aircraft I fly, they can build a nest in a day when a plane is parked out on the tarmac. Now just to remember to check my 4701.

    Sanity check on L2350 price

My first tractor, bought new in the mid-90s, was a 2350. Seem to recall it was 27 Hp, maybe 25. Anyhow, great machine and low hours like that a good bet. No idea on fair price. Is the ROPS folded over or is the top section available to the buyer if it was removed?

    Loaders' first job !

The bolt-on pallet forks are, of course, useful for endless things. They are not intended for really heavy things. But I can hang mine off one end of my wood shed, out of the way and easy to grab. Bought mine at Northern Tool. I had borrowed a pair from a friend, and his are heavy steel. I got...

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

None of the 3 Kubotas I've had came with a right-side fender handle. You can, however, get them. I put them on all 3. I don't use them, or almost never, for climbing up from the right side, I use them to rest my hand on and so forth. Takes about five minutes to install.

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

i have the 4701 and hilly terrain. I had the dealer set the rear wheels at their widest option [there are several options on this tractor]. I am glad I did. I set the width on my other tractors when I bought them, but the wheels and tires on this one are very heavy. Yep, I could do them, very...

Brand new kubota L4701, knocking and pouring out white smoke from exhaust.

I bought my 4701 couple yr ago. I have not had the collection of problems you have, but I have had the white smoke and rough-running bit. In each case, this was on cold days, in the range of below 15 deg F. I read somewhere that this can be caused by water vapor freezing in this or that part of...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Finally cleared the P3001 code from the 4701 which had been bugging me. Thing was, one of the plastic buttons [switch?] I needed to press had disappeared from the instrument panel a few months ago. No idea where it could have gone, pulled off by a raven maybe? Stranger things have happened...

    Tipping over

I have the tires on my 4701 set as wide as possible. Helps a lot. The other thing is, slow down. Keep the load in the grapple as low to the ground as you can. And slow down..... Also, I keep the rear blade attached most of the time as I live on steep terrain and the tractor needs that extra...

My first tractor - Need guidance

Congratulatios! When I bought my first, it was a very big financial deal for me, and I was nervous about the spending; however, once the tractor was here and being used, I realized about ten times more chores it could help. I can't imagine bring without a tractor now.

My first tractor - Need guidance

I bought my latest tractor in 2019, and at that time the DT option was way less expensive, I want to say about $1400 less. I think. In any case, I wanted the DT no matter what, just my preference. My property is also steep. Mountainous. When I bought my first tractor, an L2350, which I believe...

Only Back wheels spin on 4WD kubota?

Keep it out of 4WD on pavement. I sold my L2350 to a friend and emphasized this to him and his wife. Next day, his wife drove the tractor down the street a block to fill up with diesel at a service station. She left it in 4WD and turned a sharp corner and over went the tractor. Luckily she was...
