    Poor man mulch kit

Added a plate to the deck discharge more so to reduce the width by a foot than the mulching effect. Couldn’t believe how much debris was packed under the belt covers around the belts and gearbox as the mower only has 38 hours on it. Needless to say, the belt covers will not be going back on.

    BX2680 maintenance questions

I threw one of these in the fuel tank nozzle to keep debris out. Had to trim about 1/16 off the radius and not use the gasket shown in the photo to get a nice fit. Cheap insurance.

BX loader capability vs. 1series JD

Only used my bucket and forks for moving brush so far, so no good comparison for you as I moved up from a Simplicity GT with a bucket, but the need for ballast was very noticeable. Have not loaded the tires yet but will shortly.

    Bucket Forks

I bought the VEVOR clamp on for my BX2680, mainly for hauling brush. Paid about $150 delivered. Been very happy for my current needs. They are rated at 1500# which is more than the BX can lift. They come with the crossbar, which I actually haven’t used yet.

    Hydraulic (bucket) throttling

The bucket on my 2680 is extremely touchy. Seem like it is full go or stop. Other tractors I have had you could operate the bucket much more smoothly very easy. Is there anything you can do to the hydraulic valve to get a smoother operation?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Dealer delivered our 2680 with R14 tires as they did not have turf tires. Turf tires came in and the dealer brought them over and installed them today. Ride is a bit better.

    Roundabouts

More and more here in Indiana. What I can’t stand is the 2 lane roundabouts. They expect the roundabout to be a god send for some extremely busy intersections or use them to slow traffic speed on rural roads. Can’t wait to see the 4 lane roundabout.

Yet another wheel and tire thread…..

If you want to keep your expense down and the tires hold air and get the job done, I’d do nothing or like previously mentioned, rattle can paint and some tire black.

    Well R14 tires are on....

How’s the R14 ride compared to the turf tires you had on? Kubota shipped my BX with the R14’s as the turf weren’t available but they will replace the R14’s when the turf come in. Most of the BX will be mowing and I never had an issue with the turf tires on other SCUT’s I had. Am impressed with...

BX2680 Engine Mowing RPM 54” deck

New tractor, read the manuals but did not see a recommended engine speed for mowing. Being new, don’t want to run the engine too hard for a while. Seems not to lift the grass and give a nice cut all the time, mainly on finer grass blades. I’ve been cutting between about 2200 and 2500 rpm’s...

    In market for budget welder

My old Linde mig welder finally gave up the ghost after about 40 years a little over a year ago. It did a decent job. I replaced it with a Lincoln 180 mig and am amazed how much better the welds are. I believe you can get the spool to do aluminum also. Not sure if it can use flux core, but I...
