Thanks for the info, Handyman. Looked up the manual for L185 and this seems to be the equivalent. Have opened up and found the fingers on the diaphragm badly worn....almost through!! So appears a problem with the release bearing and diaphragm.

Thanks for your input Vic. Have you any idea where I can start to look for a workshop manual that might help. As said does anyone create e-book versions or possibly PDF downloads on getting to the clutch / splitting the unit? Right now any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like this is going to be a mission. Hopefully I will find a manual and then hope that I can get the parts in South Africa. Pretty sad that the clutch has probably failed after only 2000hrs.:(
