What do you guys think of this old steam tractor?

I've also seen that steam tractor in person. Albeit not pulling that many ganged plows. It's quite a beast! Kory Anderson built that machine from scratch.....from original factory plans. Lots of Youtube videos on it. You don't realize the size and undertaking until you've stood by the path...

Cold weather OPEN station snow plowing/blowing.

In the beginning.....with a JD750 with rear blower....January temps would often dip below -20° F (we don't count wind chill up here :)). So it was mandatory to dress with good snowmobile suit and helmet. That eventually got restricive (the suit shrunk) and like @chim and a few others I built a...

Leaf blower for 3 pt hitch

I see the Agrimetal Leaf Blower posted above and in your prior thread Here has jumped up in price to about $5K or thereabouts. Still half of the $10K you're mentioning. And that price spread over the life of the machine makes for a small annual cost. Our local dealer sells these walk behind...

Leaf blower tractor, 3 pt hitch.

I couldn't be without my Agrimetal PTO blower to help take care of all the leaves on this farmstead every fall. See post #12 Here. This one has been virtually maintenance free (occasionally greased) for the last 30 +/- years. It's made in Canada, I believe, but sold in the US through a few...

    Almost time to winterize ...

I'm still blowing leaves here in eastern ND with the PTO blower. Snowblower is still parked waiting for winter. the add on tractor cab is still up on the mezzanine. Woe is me!! Hoping for another month of warm weather heare to finish up summer's outside work. But most likely will have to...

    Wanted BX2750 Chute Rotator

If you're up for a little fabrication, these surplus DC motors from an auto's electric window/seats can be used for an inexpensive electric chute rotator. Here is one I put together for my brothers older BX tractor with exactly the same snowblower that you have. See post #9945 if the link...

How long did your battery last?

I have 8 plus years on my original battery so far. No problems to date. Tractor is garaged when not in use. No battery tender. It starts as good as it always has.

    Tiller Help

On my old Howard Rotavator, the poor factory welds connecting the main rotor tube to the drive shaft had finally let loose. It had the same symptoms you describe. Here's some pics to show the odd event: Rotor shaft removed from tiller body Poor weld (almost no penetration) allowing the...

    Beam and Trolley Hoist Fabrication

The little green hoist & trolley is still going strong and definitely earning its keep. One day I'll find the time to paint the "Safety Green" color with Kubota Orange so @B737 can rest easy! :ROFLMAO: For the money, that little hoist is a workhorse with no issues from it so far. I do pay...

    Home made land plane

Welcome to OTT, HeartFixr!! Instead of modifying your box blade....maybe a different approach might also be of interest to you. I used parts off of my box blade to make this Land Plane. Select that "link" and see Post #6 The three point hitch and both hardened blades were removed and added to...

    Lowering a road - Possible?

That's a lot of dirt to remove. Not that you can't do it as planned. How much time do you have or how quickly do you need to get it done? If you have the time....it can be done. A bigger question might be: What are your plans for the dirt once loosened up by your scarifiers? You're looking...

    Question about cut grass

Skeets, I have a small "estate rake" that is like a mini side delivery hay rake. It works very well for just like what you are wanting to do. Unfortunately, I don't have any pics that I can find quickly. I use it all the time in the spring to help dethatch the lawn in places. It will windrow...
