It could be that they were put in cold and the that would also explain the tight fit. Likely what has happened is the pin has a wear step that is catching the bore. That would keep it from coming out potentially if not in exactly the right position. I don't think the bores will get hurt bad...

In that case it will still be a " sloppy joint" but since you only would have a pin at each end the cumulative effect of the extra play would not be as bad. Given the price difference it's probably worth a try. I would grease them more often than normal just for the attempt to help keep grit out...

In a nutshell of you break the seal on the pump to change the timing or adjust the fuel. You can probably be assured that the warranty on the motor will be voided... That said. You can do it it's just that if something breaks on the motor it will be on your dime to fix it.

The LX 3310 is a common rail injection motor. That said the cleanliness of the fuel is ESSENTIAL. The parts to fix the injection system are spendy. with that in mind I would suggest 2 things to do if you decide not to get the extended warrantee 1) have your local mechanic change the fuel filter...

This is how I did mine... If I did it over again I would use a 1.5" instead of as a 2" cylinder. For 2 reasons the smaller cylinder would be plenty strong enough the other is you would get at least 1/2" more travel when retracted...

I would probably limit the spacers to 1.5 -2" max. Yes it gives extra leverage against the bearings but probably not past the design load. I however would make sure the spacers are better than the chineseium pot metal kind....
