    Buck wheat

Many years ago, grew about 10 acres of buckwheat in a blue clay creek bottom because there was a gap in the nectar and pollen flow for our bees and the buckwheat bloomed in that gap. Made a very dark, strong, high alcohol content honey which I kind of miss. No till wasn’t a thing back then, or...

Regen and def on large vs small kubotas

Unfortunately the truth of the science of what system truly in totality creates the biggest environmental issues doesn’t matter. The truth that matters is I can’t buy a non-emissions tractor (in this area) over 25hp unless I want to get into a major mechanical restoration of a worn to a nub...

    Correct Hydraulic oil??

When I got my WC68 I was so particular about what went in my Kubota HST (still am) I decided to call Woodland Mills to ask them EXACTLY what to put in it. The tech service guy was very nice and understanding but said something to the effect of it’s not a HST type super sensitive thing, just put...

Generator 3 Point v Trailer Mount

I have a little 5500w gas now. Need something a bit larger, but not often, so the PTO version is attractive. I do need portability which rules out stationary units. I’m a bit conflicted so pretty likely I go with whatever is cheapest the day I buy it. For my situation I can see advantages to both.

    Another childhood Idol gone

I barely remember him breaking the record. That was in the pre-steroid days so no asterisk beside that record. I was about 8 at the time and didn’t understand why some people were upset a black man broke a white man’s record. Putting up with some of the off field crap which he handled with...

    face book jail

I post some on here now but I just read for quite a while before buying a Kubota and before signing up and posting anything. Have read enough to know all don’t feel the same, but I’ll miss your posts. Hadn’t seen anything from you lately so glad to know you’ve just decided to withdraw rather...

    face book jail

Thank you for taking the time to call Nabisco. I feel much better about the situation after the fact check. I think WFM owes me at least half the cost of the pallet of Double Stuff Oreos I panic bought today.

    Electric Brakes

Checked it out on eTrailer. I don’t know enough about that to have any further opinion worthy of public broadcast, but thanks for sharing that. Never seen or heard of such previously. If you get a wireless app based controller such as that, it would be interesting to hear how you like it after...

    Electric Brakes

Not familiar with an electric brake controller that doesn’t have a box in the cab, but I would NOT be interested or suggest to anyone a controller that doesn’t have a panic stop button available to the driver. If the controller has that function, swell. The panic stop has saved my butt several...

    Ordered this today.

Congratulations. Hope you like and enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed mine. Tried loading the whole manual but apparently 14.5MB was too large so these screenshots were the closest I could get. May give you some info you requested on sharpening and also info on setting bed gap. I didn’t have to...

    Best anti-theft wiring advice

If you’re going to leave it for a while or have to leave in a less than secure location, if at all practical, getting a battery powered impact wrench and pulling a front wheel as previously suggested is about the best you can do. As others have said, if someone wants it they’ll probably get it...

Splurge on the double stuff Oreos before they’re banned as a public health hazard. And pick up some milk to dunk them in before the greenhouse gas farting dairy cows are banned.

    Electric Brakes

Like you, I have towed various trailers with and without brakes. Brakes are a good thing. $400 to $600 isn’t bad for a turn key shop job. Sounds like a good move.

Generator 3 Point v Trailer Mount

I’ve wondered this in the past and saw the question in another venue recently but it was never answered. PTO generators, at least for small to medium tractors seem to come with either a 3 point mount or a trailer type wheel kit mount. What are the advantages / disadvantages of the trailer v 3...

Box Scraper VS Grading Scraper - l2501 - Which to choose?

Sounds like you will need to do some reshaping of the base you currently have before top dressing with more gravel. You’ll probably need the box scrape for that. Another thing I’ve never quite grasped about the planes is it doesn’t seem they’d be particularly useful on roads with much of a...

Do I want a pine needle rake or a landscape rake? The answer is yes....but I can only get one

I don’t have a landscape rake. I have a pine needle rake. This is the one I have: https://www.palletforks.com/3-point/landscaping/6-ft-pine-straw-needle-rake-for-cat-1-3-point/191322.html I use it about once a year to do some leaf raking (not pine needles). It’s light, relatively cheap, NOT a...

    Will the filter leak?

If you can’t get sufficient flow with one filter that’s exactly how you filter hot and cold separately to increase overall filter capacity; filter the hot on the input side while it’s still cold. Unless the water stinks (some in this area smells of sulphur), it’s kind of rare to really need to...

    Why No Seat Belt Interlock?

If you ever sell the tractor just get your lawyer to draw up a “sold as is” with a liability waiver, get the buyer to sign it, have it notarized, and keep it forever. Just kidding. (Sort of). 🙄

Woodland Mills WC-68 or WoodMaxx TM-8H or WoodMaxx WM-8H

This isn’t an engineer answer but just FYI, when I ordered my WC-68 it automatically shipped with lift gate service. No extra $300 charge for tailgate service; included in price of the chipper. Only caveat was the delivery address had to accommodate a tractor trailer. It was delivered on a 53’...
