I have some hybrids as well. Last 2 years I got aphids on them and had to spray with insecticide soap. They do grow pretty quick.

They do and the next guy puts one right back on lol.. I think they have just found it easier to leave them on at this point.

Diesel is diesel. No mystery. Only difference between on and off road is a red dye added and a cheaper price due to no road tax. Get a dedicated 5gal yellow diesel can and run (or drive) down to the gas station. Should be fairly manageable.

Is tie rods just the threaded rod that holds the blocks together? If so hardware places sell long lengths of all thread rod you can cut to whatever length you need.

I drove it over to a friends house who was digging new deck footings and put the pry bar through the septic outlet. Dead center of the last hole. He was beat from digging all day so I swung by to open up the hole a little so he could put a repair in place.
