New to me M7060HD (1700) hrs "Stuck in 4WD"

I think the shaft is supposed to rotate in that retainer (030), it looks like the retainer is just to push on the step in the shaft so it can't come out. It's possibly just seized to the retainer because they never moved the linkage? I'd hose it down with some oil and hit it with a tapometer...

    KAD (Kubota Aided Demolition)

That's a nifty idea to use a winch on the bucket like that as a hoist. I do something similar but with an actual chain hoist, but with your setup you can stay well out of danger while lifting and lowering it since it is electric.

    Question for B7100 Owners....

I have a picture in my phone showing it is missing. And again, I think it's because it would interfer with the pump for the FEL, but I could be totally wrong. Mine also was missing lots of hardware in the cowels, as in they were pretty much just unable to fall off because of the exhaust and...

    Question for B7100 Owners....

I believe mine is missing it because I was looking at the empty holes on each side. I think it was removed when the FEL was installed, because it looked like it might interfere with the hood opening. I may be wrong though and I'm not home to run out and look at mine.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

What I do a lot of the time with this sort of a problem is that I hang a 1000lb chain hoist off the forks/bucket/boom. Then I'm just getting it close with the machine and can get out and raise/lower it as needed with the chain hoist. I think I paid $70 for the hoist years ago.

    What’s in my front tires?

Its high density black poly foam. Leave 'em alone, somebody paid good money to do that to them.

A Need to buy different flavor engine oil

SOAP says otherwise. Not that I'm going to say it will matter, but depending on your usage (or lack thereof) spending a bit more on oil may be well worth it in the long run.

    Moving heavy trailer with BX

Yeah, that's probably the easier way. I would have used the manual feature on the brake controller, they have a sliding potentiometer type switch on them, but you're right that it probably wouldn't matter or be needed. I threw out a bunch of brake rotors last fall, but it's a good idea, I can...

    Moving heavy trailer with BX

Weights are on the mod list already. Unfortunately people still want pandemic prices for iron around here, but I'm going to find some stuff eventually to make wheel weights.

    Moving heavy trailer with BX

16' flat deck, one is 1300lbs and the other about 1500lbs. So basically the same weight as the tractor with the moronic operator on it. I could see them dragging me if I can't actuate the brakes.

    Moving heavy trailer with BX

Has anyone that's done this sort of foolish thing added a trailer brake controller or a switch to activate the trailer brakes to their tractor? Asking for a friend that has a B7100 and wants to be able to move his trailers around with it and not die.

    B7100 front knuckle/final drive/portal broken

I already ordered the part, so I am fixing it. I could have just TIG'd that back up too and put new threads in it, but for what it cost for a used portal housing I decided not to bother. The part was not expensive. Being hack is fine when you either have no tools, time, or money to do it...

    B7100 front knuckle/final drive/portal broken

Yes, no oil, just grease. The "repair" to the broken casting was not oil tight, not even close. I believe they attempted to fill it with grease instead, but I'm not even sure how they did that. At least with a zerk on it I could pump quite a bit in. So yes, not good.

    B7100 front knuckle/final drive/portal broken

It currently is still working fine and I have no idea how long ago this happened. The previous owner knew nothing about the tractor other than some basic info, used it for snowblowing and that was it. He may have changed the oil in the engine a few times, but otherwise didn't seem to have...

    B7100 front knuckle/final drive/portal broken

I'm not sure what this is specifically referred to on a tractor. I'd call it a portal if it was on a truck. Anyways, it's broken, see pictures. I discovered it when I pulled the drain plug and realized it was filled with grease, and then started to ask the question of why that was. Cleaning...

    B7100 - baseline maintenance

Nice looking machine. I have a B7100 as well, built in '78, but mine is not even close to being that nice.

    B7100 FEL question

I pulled that fitting, and yup, there's a screen in there that's covered in crud. The bottom of the reservoir was also covered in crud and metal flakes (probably from pipe threads). I sucked most of the oil out from below the supply fitting with big syringe and piece of hose. The oil in the...

    B7100 FEL question

Okay, thanks, it appears to be that FEL. The fitting stackup there is different, I'll pull it apart and see if there's a screen there and try to suck out the remaining oil.

    B7100 FEL question

I just bought a B7100D and it has a FEL on it. No idea who made it, or if it's factory, or what. Anyway, I'm changing all the oils to catch the servicing back up, and it appears there is no drain on the FEL's reservoir. It's the typical design where the upright on the controlling side is used...
