What the Wolfman said. My 50+ year old John Deere 2020 diesel needs to be plugged in if the thermometer falls below 50 degrees. My 2016 Kubota M7060HDC12 fires up just fine at 20 degrees. If the tractor is gasoline powered starting should be no problem as long as the battery has the power to...
In the M7060, the engine rpms drop only 332 rpm from PTO engine speed (2160 rpm) to EPTO (1828 rpm). Not nearly as big a drop as on the bigger tractors. Here's the chart from the owner's manual:
Consequently, there's not much of a drop in torque between the two engine speeds. (Line 5 on this...
I didn't know diesel exhaust could be so clean until I got my Kubota. My old John Deere is parked under a shed that is open on three sides. When I fired it up I tried to hold my breath until I backed it out into the open. No visible smoke, just the fumes are awful. The Kubota stays in the...
Me, at 8 years old driving the old Oliver 70 while my Mom and Dad spread the hay on the wagon. There's a "hayloader" being towed behind the wagon that picks up the windrow of hay and drops it on the wagon. Note that the wagon still has steel tires, and the date on the photo!

I was pretty apprehensive when I went from my 60 year old John Deere 2020 diesel to the 2016 Kubota M7060 because of the DPF. After having used the Kubota for several months now, the worries have gone away. As Darren Todd says, keep the RPMs up and you'll be fine. The Kubota is just as fuel...
Looking at the data sheet provided by 85Hokie, the "mountain" shaped torque curve (line 5 on the graph) mentioned by Dave eng is all downhill right off idle!
This summer so far I've mowed ~ 60 acres with my M7060HDC12. Used EPTO the whole time, which means to have the PTO at about 540 the tach on the tractor has to indicate around 1880 rpm. As someone above posted, you can set your dash to indicate the actual PTO rpm. My understanding is if you do...
Not an option for the poor guy...this is in England. Colt, Browning, S&W, Winchester, Remington and all the rest all banned.
Thank God for the guy who'll be our new Supreme Court Justice and who believes in a person's right to defend themselves.
Fair exchange....I noticed my neighbor, who is in his 80s and has COPD, was out on his riding lawn mower trying to mow down a 7-acre field of cheatgrass. Most of the time the cloud of dust and pollen was so bad you couldn't see his - only the cloud with the roar of an engine coming out of it -...
The M7060 does not use DEF. It does have an EGR valve...the only reason I know that is that the owner's manual mentions that it needs to be serviced after 1500 hours. At my age, I doubt I'll have to worry about it! But in my research on the tractor, I've seen no mention of issues with the EGR...
Sounds to me like the chain needs to be sharpened. Heat causes the stretching, and a dull chain causes the heat.
I bought a Homelite 450 Professional saw back in 1980 and am still using it today for the big jobs (it came with a 36" bar but I changed that to a 24"). That thing has cut untold...
Picked up my M7060 (used) in February and have put ~ 80 hours on it since then. The previous owner didn't report any problems with the DPF and I haven't seen anything either. The regeneration light comes on and then about 15-20 minutes later goes off and if it weren't for that I wouldn't know...
Same here - not unusual for it to go to 20 below and stay there for a week around here during the winter. When I was working out at the mines seems like the cold would always catch them unprepared, with diesel not winterized enough for the extreme cold and none of the equipment would run. I'm...
No, no lawn mowing! I mow 50 acres of desert cheatgrass (awful stuff) a couple times a year to minimize fire danger. Just wanted to point out to the OP what happens when you use a rear-mounted mower. With tall cheatgrass, a day or so after mowing it's all standing tall again where the tractor...
Only problem I've found with any mower that mounts on the rear of the tractor is that the tractor tires press the grass against the ground and that part doesn't get mowed. A day later that grass stands back up, nice and tall, so you can tell exactly where the tractor tires tracked! Not so good...
