    WoodMaxx chipper

Thanks fellas. I do have a WM flail mower, so am familiar with the clunky startup on that. Glad to hear it should be similar. Chipper instructions say to engage PTO at low engine speed and then bring it up. That’s what I do with the flail. Not at idle, just a little above seems smoothest...

    WoodMaxx chipper

Ok. She’s mine now! This thing is cleeeeeaaaannnn. Still has the plastic wrap on the hydraulic hoses…. Question for those that have used a chipper on a B2650… How does the tractor like it when you engage the PTO? With no mechanical clutch to feather, it seems like it may be pretty...

    WoodMaxx chipper

Thanks all for the input on this. Deal has been made, and I’ll pick it up on Wednesday. Luckily, he has a tractor to load it on my trailer so I don’t need to schlep my machine 100 miles each way to get the chipper. Even loaded backwards, that’s further than I think I wanna go with the ROPS...

    WoodMaxx flail mower

I use my FM-62 on a smaller B2650. Zero issues lugging it around, and only bogs down when mowing really tall (like hood high) thick grass. It’s just a lot of mass under there for it to deal with. If I can physically drive the tractor through brush, it mows it easy.

    WoodMaxx chipper

We’re all soft woods here in my area. Doug fir, poplars, cedar, etc. a few apples that I’ll clip the suckers off and small branches. The majority I want to deal with is 2” and smaller. I currently use a Troybilt Tomahawk, and I’d like to make it easier on me. No interest in piles and...

    WoodMaxx chipper

Apologies for asking a question that I’m certain has been asked! I have an opportunity to pick up a lightly used (18 hours) WM-8H chipper. It’s more machine than I need, but the price is right. If my research is somewhat close to accurate, this thing is close to 1,000#. Looks like my B2650 has...

    Tow hooks for the Lx2610

I couldn’t agree more on a larger machine! But with my little B2650, it’s a little bit of a challenge to use chains from a point on the frame. I did that for a while, but I had to have it perfectly positioned on the trailer so my chains would have a straight shot to the tie down points. The...

    Tow hooks for the Lx2610

I must cheat. I just use lasso type tire ratchet straps to hold my B2650 to the trailer. Rock solid, and no sharp edges to chafe the straps. Each strap is rated to 3,300#. Well above the weight of my little machine. Strap goes on each corner...

    WoodMaxx flail mower

I use a FM-62 regularly for field grass and brush. I don’t have a lot of limbs to chop up, so I have the Y-blades. They’ll mulch things bigger than you’d think… Love my WoodMaxx. Has been nothing but spectacular.

    Ethical Purchase

This, 100%. I’m in construction sales, and see it regularly. People will choose my firm for a new project based on our service department’s reputation on a regular basis. A returning customer is always better than a new one, and service work is recurring business. Anybody can sell a tractor...

    Ethical Purchase

But, couldn’t it be just as plausible that the prices are simply the same? Same equipment from same manufacturer, shipped the same-ish distance. Let’s assume that the dealer cost is the same on the machines. Same general market area, so I would. assume that the dealer’s operating costs are...

    quick hitch (land pride)

My QH is only 4 years old and I store my tractor in a barn. Still looks and feels like new. Only a couple hundred hours on it though…

    New Flail Mower coming today

I mow field grass as high as my hood with no trouble. I mow blackberries that have stalks up to 1.5” in diameter with no trouble. Actually easier than grass. Turns berry brush into a mulch… Saplings, woody debris up to 2” gets chewed up in rapid fashion. Worst case, it gets slapped around I’m...

    New Flail Mower coming today

I have the same model with Y-blades, which are fantastic for the brush that we get here in western Oregon. I’d try them for a bit before jumping on a set of hammers. I was more impressed with them in heavy brush/light wood than I anticipated. Congrats on the new piece, you’re gonna love it!

    60" vs 72" Landscape rake for a B2601

Unless you have spots that a 72” won’t fit well, get the big one. I use that same offset Extreme whatever model from EA in 72” flavors behind my B2650 and never have traction issues. Wish I would have bought the 84”!!!

    First time attaching flail mower

Is your top link in a round hole that is forward of the slot on the mower? If it is, I’d relocate the top link to the slot so the mower can follow the ground more. Otherwise, it looks to be a little nose-high to me.

    B2650 alternator upgrade

Did you ask a parts guy or a sales guy? Makes a difference because the sales guys will look at Wholegoods options… I think I paid about $275 for my complete kit through my local sales guy.

    B2650 aux lighting

If you have a ROPS B2650, you’ve got a 14.5A Dynamo. A real turd when it comes to making auxiliary current. Here’s a thread for a ridiculously easy retrofit project that’ll triple your output. https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/b2650-alternator-upgrade.62832/
