    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

Henro, yes the bulk of my property is mature timber and if you take the yard out of the equation only about 4 acres to maintain with a tractor. In retrospect I probably should have made the topic of this thread, "BX or spend the extra to upgrade to the B2601". I WANT the bigger tractor (LX or...

    Yard Prep?

Tornado......really appreciate your advice here and with regard to my "which tractor to buy thread". You may think I'm crazy but with only about 4 acres of pasture and 3/4 or acre of so of yard I'm leaning towards buying the 2601 over the LX or the L2501. Fella up the road maintains his place...

    Yard Prep?

Thanks for the input. Makes me think a subsoiler and disc may be a wiser choice than the tiller! Will a smaller 25hp Kubota like a B2601 struggle to pull a subsoiler?

    Yard Prep?

I say its clay but I really don't know. Moving from Georgia just not familiar with the yellowish brown soil in western Kentucky. Did however drop off a soil sample at an extension office this morning so will be interested to get the report back. I'll get a sub soiler just got to figure out...

    Yard Prep?

Thanks the subsoiler makes sense. So are ya'll thinking subsoiler and tiller or subsoiler and disc and then something (box blade, land rake, drag log) to break up clumps from disc. Tractor will be a 25hp Kubota.

Tornado......I agree with your thoughts on the L2501. I just need to go buy something and move on. The more you research the more questions come up......endless rabbit hole! I've read some say that the L2501 is much more comfortable to spend time on, smoother ride due to weight and yet I've read...

    Yard Prep?

Having lived in Georgia my entire life I'm unfamiliar with the soil (will get a soil test) but its yellowish soil that compacts hard similar to nasty Georgia red clay. I'm about to finalize tractor / implement purchase and I started thinking this compacted hard soil (not to many rocks though)...

    Yard Prep?

Toward the end of summer / early fall I’ve got to prep an area about an acre that is currently bare dirt to plant KY31 to become my front and back yard. Extensive grading was required to build house / barn pads and septic field. In late spring this area was a muddy mess and now its baked out...

DD........see my previous post. Yes the LX2610 is in back in the mix. Even though many have said stick to a 4' brush hog on the LX2610 / B2650 I have seen numerous videos of B2650's pulling 5' bush hogs. Not a fan of the digital dash (see prior post) but maybe I'm misguided about this. Splitting...

What are your opinions on the digital dash vs. analog. Concerned about long term reliability of a digital dash (moisture, etc). I've almost tossed aside the LX2610SU and maybe it needs to be revisited before pulling the trigger. The only box the B2601 doesn't check for me.......and its a big box...

Snowmansimo........after talking to the fella up the road that me that maintains his property which is similar to mine with a BX I'm convinced many don't give the BX the credit they deserve. May take a little longer but quite competent to maintain small properties and much more capaple than many...

I appreciate the feedback and TOTALLY AGREE that trying to figure out how to get into the L2501 would be a smart much more future proof solution. While the B2601 will probably get the job done and for a good price have a pretty complete setup out of the gate BUT the L2501 is a MAJOR UPGRADE in...

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

I don't think the list is long. A bush hog or some rotary cutter / mower is necessary for pasture, a box blade for long gravel driveway and previously listed box blade and tiller to convert and area about the size of a football field that is currently bare uneven dirt as a result of grading for...

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

Today I'm leaning towards the B2601 w/ R4 tires. For around $22, 600 plus tax I can get the tractor, loader, 54' SSQA bucket, tires filled, rear wheel spacer, third function kit, QH15 quick hitch, BB1260 box blade, 1250RTR tiller, RCR1548 medium duty bush hog and PL1242 pallet forks. Will add...

A totally agree about the B2601, I'm all on board just need a 5 foot cutting solution to deal with 4 acres of pasture. 9 out of 10 people I've spoken over the last year have said, "sure the B2601 can pull a 5' bush hog, but 9 out 10 had said they would not do so, stick with the 4 foot bush hog...

I REALLY like the B2601 but my hangup is being limited to a 4’ bush hog. Traced out on Google Earth this morning and I’m going to have a little over 4 acres of pasture to cut and my yard will be about three fourths of an acre. I’m out in the country so not looking for a highly manicured yard...

Again, great info to soak up and process. The other issue is Land Pride verses Woods for implements. I'm fortunate to have 4 Kubota dealers in relative close proximity and one dealer sells a lot of Woods. I know Woods implements are VERY good and they've been on my radar since I started this...

REALLY appreciate all the input. I like the idea of a flail mower. While not being as good as either am I correct in thinking a flail mower could serve the purpose of both a bush hog and finish mower while possibly being better than a bush hog at cutting trails. I've going to have a VERY large...

Thanks for you input and I agree with everything you said. I wish I'd never seen the gpoutdoors site and what he does with the B2601. As I mentioned above there is a fella up the road that maintains about 4 acres with a little BX. I stopped by a couple of weeks ago to talk to him HOPING he would...

First post but as a researchaholic have been reading this forum and learning for the last year. Of all the brands Kubota and Kioti made it to the final tier, pretty sure I’m set on a Kubota unless the Kioti cost difference is MUCH more substantial than I expect. I’m a little gun shy about...
