My thought is, why does it need to be completely empty? As long as it's not full, should be fine. solids will eventually break down, and can be pumped out next time. Maybe add some enzymes to help it along. Just my 2 cents. Edit, just saw previous post

I have this same saw, the 1st one I had bound up and stopped working within a week or so, I returned it, the replacement works great with any of my batteries, although, obviously, larger ones last longer. Good luck!

The width at the hinge,. inside, is 35", just above the hinge plate is 35 1/2. Hope that helps.
