Successful Ways to Advertise to get Tractor Work

I like the website idea. Facebook would be a nightmare though. I'd be doing all free work for friends. I never charge close friends and family anything. If I listed my services on facebook, I'd be busy for sure. Just not making a dime. ;)

Successful Ways to Advertise to get Tractor Work

Hey guys. I wanted to get advice on the best way to communicate tractor work in your local communities. What are you guys doing to get the word out that has been successful? Right now, I have an add on Craigslist. I also have an add in our local paper under "services" for tractor work. See...

    HST filter service

I am coming up on my 50 hr service but I was given some advice on changing the hydraulic filters when I did the service on my L3200. A guy told me to park on a slight side hill with the filter your changing facing up the hill. I did that and lost very little, if any hydraulic fluid. It was a...

How to straighten a bent drag harrow?

Hey guys. I recently bought a drag harrow and when it arrived, I noticed it was bent in areas. I guess someone tried to pick it up while it was still attached to something heavy and bent a section of the "V" pieces. I think it will still work but would like to hear some suggestions on how to...

Kens bolt on hooks. another very happy customer

I bought a set of these hooks for my bucket. I'm amazed at how many times they come in handy. I did prime and spray mine Kubota Orange before installing them. They look great.

PTO Rear Broom Sweeper Brush ideas? What are my options?

Yeah, these prices have caused me to rethink the need for one of these. Really makes not sense. All we are talking about is a roto-tiller that has brushes instead of tines. You can pick up 72 inch roto-tillers all day for $1,500. Why are these sweepers so freaking high???

Land Pride PD 10 - Post hole digger

I have this post hole auger I bought from Agri-Supply for $400. I've used it on about 200 holes so far. Works amazing. I have only broken 1 shear bolt when I hit a huge rock. Shear bolt did what it's designed to do. I bought the 9 inch bit with it for $109. Highly recommend this setup unless...

Best Method for Spreading Sand in Horse Riding Rings?

If I can't located on old RR tie, could I just pick up a short 6x6 or 8x8 treated post at Lowes and use it? And you mentioned the height of the float would determine how much sand moves? Do you mean that effects the leading edge of the rr tie or 8x8 post I'm dragging that's attached to the...

Best Method for Spreading Sand in Horse Riding Rings?

My drive is NOT good at that. Trust me. I had him try with some gravel driveways I was putting in a while back. He has great prices for me but spreading product as he dumps is not his strong point.

Best Method for Spreading Sand in Horse Riding Rings?

Yes. The dump truck drive just dumped each load in a pile at different areas of the rink. I used the bucket to spread each pile out. Chain link seems like a good idea. Yes, I have a draw bar for my 3 point hitch. Do you have a picture of the rail/chain method? I did some research on...

Best Method for Spreading Sand in Horse Riding Rings?

Hey guys. I recently had a horse riding ring job. The customer wanted their 15,000 square foot riding rink re-sanded. I just completed the job yesterday. I had 7 dump truck loads (15 yds each) of sand brought in and dump in different locations around the ring. I used my FEL to spread the sand in...

UPDATE- $5 rebates on Shell Rotella T6 or T5 per gallon. Up to 2 gallons. Just filled out my online rebate form and uploaded my Walmart receipt. Looks like I just bought 3 gallons of T6 for $45. That's not too bad boys. Not bad at all. Here is the Shell weblink for the rebate...

    Engine oil: 5W-40 too broad?

Yeah, I saw that as well. $19.16 per gallon. Plan on picking up several my next trip to Walmart. Well, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the lone wolf with this oil. I'm glad the OP started this thread. Saved me the trouble. I was just wondering this the other day. Thanks guys for the feedback.

    Engine oil: 5W-40 too broad?

So what is the consensus? Is using the Rotella T6 5W-40 acceptable oil for the Kubota? I'm coming up on my 50 hr service as well and was planning on using the T6 oil along with the appropriate filters from my local Kubota dealer. How many recommend using the T6 in these engines?

    Zero Turn Mowers

I previously owned a Husqvarna 54" mower so the time comparison is on equal decks. It would take me nearly 2 hours to mow my nearly 2 acres. Now it's done in about an hour. It's not an open field 2 acre cut so time will be hard to compare without have the same trees/deck/borders to mow around...

    Zero Turn Mowers

I bought the Hustler Raptor 54" zero turn about a month ago and absolutely love it. It has cut my mowing time in 1/2. I mow nearly 2 acres. It's smooth and cuts great. My yard has never looked better. Hustler was the first company to build the zero turn so I thought by now, they'd surely have...
