    Mid-mower for a B2710??

I’m looking for a mid mower for my B2710 w/ front loader. Ideally I’d like to pick up a 72” mower to help take care of about 5 acres, but I would settle for a 60”. I have a rear brush hog but a lot of my property is wooded and it’s a little cumbersome/ long. My question is, what all mower...

Thanks 200. I was convinced it had to be something else, a defective part ... but once I went back to the basics it all made since. Thanks again, sir.

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Guys ... I can't say thank you enough. I got her started. It was the battery cables. I'll make my own, better cables later, but I picked up some cheaper cables at the auto store this morning just to check. I also bought some more 10g wire and weatherproof loop terminals to make dedicated...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

I've gone over things previously with a voltmeter, but part of my situation is I don't have a second pair of hands to help me. When I checked things before I always seemed to have good voltage, but something has to be dropping or shorting when the key is turned. Tomorrow is another day. I'm...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Already taken it to the house for the evening. Pretty sure I've got everything connected correctly since all I did was put everything back where I found it. Plus I was having the issues before I swapped out the starter. I'm going to get new cables in the morning. I also started making 10g...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

When I try to jump it from the + starter term, I don't get anything. However, when I run a wire from the + battery term to the small solenoid tab it clicks but doesn't start.

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Been a minute since I've been able to work on the tractor ... been out of town and working ... but I was able to get a new starter unit in and on the tractor. This is NOT fixed the "dead" issue. I'm quickly narrowing this down to a short somewhere in the system. I'm intermittently getting...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Thanks for the link and the diagram, Kenny. But I've already got a digital copy of the WSM saved and have been pouring over it. As I said before, having a digital copy is great, but I like having paper in my hands. I'm thinking of getting a printed copy just so I can have it on hand while I'm...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Thanks for your input, Jay ... I know it's got to be something simple. These things aren't computer driven, so it can't be that complicated ... that's what's driving me nuts. And sorry, brother, but you're going to have to passport up and come get this thing. HAHAHA! All my fuses and safety...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Well F ... So, I went out and tried to use a jumper from the + battery terminal to the trigger on the starter solenoid. All I got was the starter pops out but doesn't spin. So, I'm guessing my starter is bad as well .... BUUUUUUUUT .... now I'm back to square one. NOTHING works again. No dash...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

That's a good point. I'm looking at diagrams found in an online WSM, so that 's what I've got to work with. The relay does attach to a metal bracket, but the relay's housing is plastic, so it doesn't get it's ground from there. I'll go back out and double check that its getting a good ground...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'm finding this site to be very friendly and very helpful. I appreciate that. Here's where I'm at this morning... May be dead in the water until parts can get here after Christmas. I hooked up a battery charger this morning and rechecked voltage at the...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

I don't have access to a carbon pile tester. With the battery just sitting there, what should I be seeing? With the engine running, sure I'd expect to see a higher reading, but just sitting there I didn't see anything wrong with 12.5. I'll put a charger on it in the morning.

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

Thanks for the input guys ... While I'm not new to mechanics ( I work on old Jeeps), I'm still pretty new to this tractor. 200, would you mind giving me a short list of the "major circuits" I'm wanting to look at??

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

I've taken all the ring terminal connections off and cleaned everything to both ends. Checking at the starter, I'm getting 12.5V there so that should be good, BUT ... that's just with the key "on". Not starting. I'd agree with the idea that there may be a significant voltage drop someplace, but...

    B2710 Completely dead/ no power ... HELP!

I have a B2710 that ran great all summer, but as the temps got a little cooler this fall it began having issues with slow starts. Every once in a while I could turn the key on but nothing, no power to crack, no power to the dash lights, nothing. Now that's all I got. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I'll...
