I am all for swapping to an element filter. Just had no idea on if there is some sort of universal replacement for the assembly, or if people are just hitting the local junk yard and rigging it.

It seems my oil bath air filter has disintegrated due to poor maintenance by the previous owner. Id bet its never had oil in it and rusted out. Has anyone found a way of modifying one from another tractor Or a reasonable conversion to a standard element style filter that doesn't look like cancer...

Update on the thermostat. I found a WN0071 inline billet aluminum thermostat housing, that houses a standard chevy thermostat. Perfect fit with no room to spare between the old welded housing and the radiator. Cost about $70 but Now i will never have an issue replacing the thermostat.

I agree. I have a hard time believing that thermostat is the only one like it. I also find it odd that no forums speak of this one of a kind part. Im not sure if mine has one yet. I plan to moving it to my shop today to start draining fluids. Im hoping it does.

I have just bought a L260 and am planning a full service before i put it to work. I have everything i need except for a thermostat. Kubota told me today “good luck finding one of those”. The oem part number 10231-73010 does not seem to cross reference to any other thermostat. Does anyone know of...
