I check the gearbox oil condition and level when I first use it each year. Top up oil if required, never had an issue with condition of oil. Not sure on recommended change period.

Trying to work things out in advance is difficult, normal path is to mount the implement and then cut the pto shaft to fit, you can find many videos of how to do this online. Good luck with it.

As others commented, you can use 10w -30 or 15W-40, I would not recommend that you mix the 2 different grades of oil.

I’d treat it like a new tractor and do the initial filter and fluid change at 50 hours after that revert to the normal service recommendations.
