    Backhoe VS Excavator

Yes just depends on the use case. If you have 100 acres and need to travel across it to get to a work site....it will take forever in an excavator. So many differences here you really can't compare them directly. Just for digging of course, but that is like saying a truck isn't as good at...

Why Top and Tilt (T&T) and Power Angle (PA)?

Wheels are an option (at least they were on my rear angle blade setup). I have exactly the same setup as @NHSleddog but with a rear blade instead of the rake. It is awesome. I have been thinking about getting the rake as well. With the LP setup you can interchange the rake for the blade...

    BX levers watch out.

Glad he had appropriate safety measures in place...probably saved his life. Lesson for those that don't like seat belts or ROPS!

    Kubota loader/bucket weights

    Smart guys

I had my local Kubota dealer quote me 20% higher on a Kubota generator than I can get it for shipped To my door. I would probably go with 5% but 15% of $5500 is a lot of diesel….

    whats a "charge pump" ??

1000% pass on it unless you have money to burn. Spend it on something that you know what it will cost to repair.

Down the rabbit hole of comparing tractors that have a cab.

It doesn't. The 5400 does. To clarify I have always been referencing the M60 series, but you might be talking to the OP so I apologize if so.

    Smart guys

I would tell the local dealer that you would be happy to buy from them for a competitive price (even the same price as the non local). Otherwise, you do what you need to to get that product $30 cheaper...I sure would.

Down the rabbit hole of comparing tractors that have a cab.

Some will disagree but I much prefer geared for mowing. I don't like HST cruise control in turns, and geared ensures consistent speed for a consistent cut.

Down the rabbit hole of comparing tractors that have a cab.

M7060 has the power shuttle type gear transmission. It is very smooth and easy to use. Highly recommended for field work. I don't love it for a bunch of back and forth dirt or timber moving stuff....but we don't really have much of that on the TX farm.

M7060 cab is so quiet. We love it for lots of field work.

    How good is alternate energy?

Totally agree. I have a F250 diesel but I only have 12k miles on it in 4 years. I actually pollute less than my neighbors in the city with Teslas because I am off grid, but they have to charge their cars daily with the fossil fuel power plants....They are speechless when I explain this to...

    How good is alternate energy?

I agree. Lets be much more specific because there really are a bunch of dirty parts of wind and solar energy production.

mowing a fence line and a 16 acres of field tractor suggestions?

In TX we don't mow fence lines...we have them everywhere. We spray them. The fence line is often the cleanest ground on our land. We have a sprayer on the RTV, works great. If you are a big anti-herbicide person, then I guess you can use a weedwacker. A flail will never get under the...

    Advice on L3560 (cab, HST)

Another vote for a grapple and 3rd function instead of a 4 in 1. You can get by lifting stuff with Pallet forks and a chain if you are good at balancing the load…so you can put off getting the grapple for a bit If you need to. I would go ahead and get the 3rd function done by the dealer. Box...

    L series

BH on the BX is even more limited with reach and bucket capacity. However if you want some idea of what those little machines can do (a lot actually) check out YouTube Tractor Time with Tim. He uses a JD 1025R a bunch which is just a bit bigger than the BX. You do have a bunch of bucket work...

    L series

Yes this helps. A few thoughts. 1. If you are planning on using the equipment more commercially (flipping more homes) you may consider a mini ex instead of that backhoe. A backhoe on a L2501 is good for homeowner tasks, but just isn't a good cost benefit if you need to get work done more...
