    Turns over but won't start

You guys are the greatest, and I really appreciate your input and solutions. Sunday - almost all day - our fire department is doing an honor escort for a fallen fire fighter. But come monday I plan to tackle the bugger with these new suggestions. Thanks again fellow oranges!;)

    Turns over but won't start

Thanks Russell. I get a normal flow from the fuel line to the pump when disconnecting from the tank. If I go direct to the injector pump with an electric fuel pump, would the fuel pressure be too much? And would that eliminate any air in the injector pump? Thanks for your time and help!

    Turns over but won't start

And with the FEL at half mast and on a block, access to the fuel distribution area requires a contortionist. It is sitting in front of my carport and If I drag it out of the way Im sure the bucket will go to the ground and there will be no power steering.

    Turns over but won't start

Yeah it is a B7500 that is long in the tooth but even though it takes a tiny breath of ether this hasn't been a BIG problem. It has average power and rpm once the engine is running. Glow plugs? In the 4 years I've had the bugger the glow plugs have never made any difference in attempting cold...

    Turns over but won't start

My problem isn't a failure to turn over with the starter. That is great. I had started the engine up to move the bugger and after about 10 minutes idling it died. Checked the fuel level (fuel gauge never worked). That "seemed" ok but added fuel anyway. This engine has always needed a tiny shot...

    BX25 Won't Start/Crank

Can you turn the engine over by any hand method? It is possible you may have a "liquid lock" and even though that is a remote possibility, an engine won't turn over if that is a cause.

    Starting issues

Sorry fellows for the post failure :o and returning to the site to find the replies. I guess better late than never but the clunker is a mid 80s B7500. Thanks for all the replies that offer ideas of my problem. Most of them I had already had a go at. Problems were exacerbated by a 7" - 8"...

    2003 B7400 won't start

I've got a Mid 80s B7500 that has given me multiple fails but the most recent happened yesterday. Engine started normally, () drove 200yds to the job site, shut down to adjust some of the job stuff. Mounted and when the key start was engaged only got a couple of klicks then nothing...

No I haven't load tested my battery. The clunker ran just fine to the job site. Climbed on to start and got one "click". Removed - and + cables replaced them bright and tight. The test from the - post to the starter lug 13.2V No indicator lights on the dash and no more clicks. Wondered about...

    B7100 wont start

There might be some residual fuel pressure going through one or more injectors after a long rest period. This could be causing raw fuel to flow into one or more cylinders. This can cause a liquid lock if there is enough to fill up a cylinder. This cold be the cause of the excess smoke and fuel...

    G1800 won't turn over whatsoever

You might have a liquid lock too. Can you turn the engine over by hand? Liquid of some type getting into a cylinder? It's rare, but a stuck injector might drip enough fuel into a cylinder to make it impossible tor the engine to rotate. Rare but not impossible.

    Nasty split

I didn't intend to go so far OT but with the brewery discussions coming out I got distracted. You are one brave soul to do what you've done sans a shop with a roof and floor. I've just drained my tranny and pump without that luxury and it wasn't fun for me crawling around in the dirt. Good luck...

    BX2370 blowing 50amp fuse

50 amp! What is fused with that beast? As 85Hokie say you may have a bare wire from the ignition to the starter. Another likely cause is the starter bearings are letting the armature drag and pulling an overload.

    Nasty split

My contribution to this highly questionable discussion is going to be about a questionable "CRAFT" ? ? beer now being produced in Shreveport Louisiana. Passing through a local big box store, I spotted a new display of canned beer. The company is the "Great Raft" Brewing. There seem at this...

    Hydraulic system flush.

The "exploded diagrams" didn't actually show "drain plugs" but called them "bolt with flange". Item 110. They assume that if you take out the wrong "bolt" and nothing comes out you'll figure out that you've taken out the wrong one! Anyway there are 3 of these bolts to drain transmission...
