Hmmm, but what if all 4 tires are going flat? I know, pretty rare to lose all four at the same time, but never underestimate a redneck with an engineering degree.

Glad you got off as light as you did, and that Milton fizzled out from Cat 5 so quickly. You guys dodged a bullet down there.

To be fair, though, they did invite us to their halloween party. He went to high school with my oldest stepson. We’d fit right in amongst a bunch of 30-somethings that we don’t know from Adam’s house cat, right? Even if he just offered to pay for a can of diesel, I enjoy the seat time and...

That one gave me a good belly laugh. Most of the women in my family have the most severe case of arachnophobia I’ve ever seen. But then again, I turn into instant ninja if one gets on me or if I walk through a web.

It’s my shoulders, hips are still okay. Or maybe the shoulders hurt so much I don’t notice the hips.

Been helping my neighbor with a new metal building installation. Between cutting trees, chipping tops of said trees, pulling up roots from other trees he had cut, moving/grading gravel back to the slab and prepping for all the electrical and plumbing work, he’s had me pretty busy. A busy me is a...

Greased the FEL on the LX. Been beating on it a bit lately. Didn’t have the grapple on, so gotta give it a special appointment for grease. I normally keep the grapple on, but had some need for a bucket a few days ago, but whatever it was escapes my feeble brain at the moment. Getting close to...

My job was bigger than rabbit ears. I had to go outside and twist the pole to get one of the three channels we could receive. Had to turn it a little east for the ABC station (Pensacola), but NBC and CBS (Mobile) were pretty much due south. Messed with my folks one time and pointed it at...

Don't antennae typically work better with a good solid ground for the mast? Normally did for me back in the day. Rubber tires aren't very good grounds, but perhaps you have something I can't see for grounding the antennae?

Well, I don’t figure I’d have gnaw my arm off to keep from waking her up. Never thought of her as skinny. Tiny, perhaps.

As opposed to water oaks? Cedars drop almost nil branches, insects don’t want anything to do with them (except cicadas) have absolutely beautiful wood, smell nice, and don’t drop a ton of leaves every year for nearly 3 months of the year before they drop the blooms and cover everything in...

Absolutely there’s a curve, a couple spped traps, and some oily spots on the pavement involved. BUT, it’s one thing that you can learn to do your own way and it’s the perfect way. Not telling you how to, but what I do is roll the FEL curl forward and use the top half like a rake to gather the...

Ya know what that makes me think about? Colonoscopy. Ain’t that about the same thing aliens do? Or do they only do it for to trailer park residents?

At the moment, weeds would be good. All I got right now is dirt and rocks and stump mulch and a few roots that have no tree anymore. Nooe, no irrigation system and not likely to get one unless I do it myself. I rolled out of bed at 0600 this morning to a nice foggy autumn morning and decided...

I learned that as “Pick ONE”. The three are mutually exclusive. Good won’t be fast or cheap. Cheap won’t be fast or good. Rarely is fast good and cheap.

Think I’ll do the same to get through winter and let the disruption settle so I can pull a few more roots before I bother with topsoil. Maybe topsoil and fresh seed in early spring. Maybe it’ll get a foothold before summer droughts. I want to flatten the lawn as much as possible. I’ve been...

It could be worse. You could find where the PO's cut three joists under the kitchen nearly through at both ends (to route A/C duct) just before you push a 300-pound refrigerator across them and find the fast way to get a refrigerator in the basement. Fortunately for me, I decided it would be...

My neighbor has had shed envy since I built my shop. In the past two weeks he's recruited me to help him move two existing sheds (one of which he built 30 years ago). That one was HEAVY for a 10x10 stick frame structure, and in remarkable condition. Termites had gnawed on the Masonite siding...

Well, it was already raining when I got up, so I guess the garden boxes will get leveled when they get leveled. Not gonna take much. Just a jack and some shims under the supports. Not something I relish doing in the rain, though. I should have used 2x6's for the frame I built for it, but...
