    Gear oil will have that distinct nauseating odor to it. I would use a better quality product back in. Go with Lucas.

    What kind of paint? I use off the shelf kubota paint 4:1 with xylene. Sprays nice

    No matter how heavy you think something is built, it's still breakable. 10 ton peterbilt single axle dump. Not what I exactly what I wanted to do this weekend. 🤦‍♂️

    Easy to go in maybe a dead give away!!!! Always new rings when they are removed. And at least a back yard valve job to be sure. Again no one I know has eyes like a micrometer.

    You're still not listening to issues of vital importance. How do you plan on priming oil? Turning with starter will not be prudent. It's not like it's a small block chevy where you can put shaft down distributor hole and prime pump. Little grease on the bearings won't cut it.

    Wasn't fun trying to find a good camshaft either. As they only used that cam in 55.

    The oil ring should not be thar tight. Hope you didn't roll it over. Also those bearings should be smothered in lubriplate assembly lube. At 1st start up they aren't going to have any lubricisity. Cylinder walls need to be oiled. Dry initial start up is detrimental. I once had to rebuild a...

    Lubriplate engine assembly lube. Need ring compressor. Hose clamps will not allow piston to slide out therefor damaging rings.

    Those bushings have to be sized, reamed , to fit the wrist pins

    Do yourself a favor and get a cylinder hone for use on a drill. At least get some kind of cross hatch in those cylinders before installing pistons.
