    Yaesh. Your father in law bent one or more of your connecting rods. The pistons no longer reach the top of their stroke resulting in insufficient compression for complete combustion, hence the color of your exhaust.

    I, Spraynard, would prep the fractures and weld with 7018. Slowly, as to not overheat the upper pivot joint. And cover the swing ram to prevent spatter damage.

    Looks like a ductile fracture to me and I don't see any inclusions or other usual casting flaws. It's tough for me to determine if the failure was cyclical.
