    B7100 HST Hydraulic system.

Only alteration to the engine is the alternator addition. As for how it moves, some days there is an issue right from startup where it just refuses to move, makes absolutely no sound and behaves as though you are not even touching the pedal. Some days it'll run for a reasonable amount of time...

    1983 B7100 cooling system.

Hi folks, another question on cooling but this time engine related. My '83 7100 has a water pump behind the cooling fan which does appear to be working, however I'm still experiencing overheating issues in the summer, currently running with thermostat removed and it seems to have helped a...

    B7100 HST Hydraulic system.

Hi Folks, Does anyone have a flow diagram or would be willing to draw one of how the hydraulic fluid runs around the tractor and when? I suspect that my fluid is getting hot and causing transmission issues because it isn't flowing through the oil cooler quick enough. Fluid can be so hot that...

    B7100 HST problems (another one)

How easy is that to strip out and check? I'm assuming that it's a case of the whole unit needing to come out? I 'may' have identified a potential source of air getting into the suction line after the strainer and before the HST unit.

    B7100 HST problems (another one)

It's very definitely a 'pump' type sound, where in one scanario it sounds like a pump straining, but in the other it sounds like a pump doing nothing at all, even though the input shaft is spinning. I've read elsewhere on the forum (albeit for different HST models) that the charge pump fails...

Also there's no oil leaks whatsoever from the back end, I did think air getting in somewhere but can't find anything, unless of course it's in a pipe that's higher than the fluid reservoir.

    B7100 HST problems (another one)

Strainers were cleaned and inspected and allowed fluid to flow through them under gravity pressure. I suspect it is something to do with the HST unit as that's where the noise is coming from and it's not a 'mechanical' noise in terms of grinding, it's more like fluid under strain bit escaping...

    B7100 HST problems (another one)

Also if it was past the HST unit I assume I wouldn't have the pedal fighting back against me?

    B7100 HST problems (another one)

Excellent thanks, often though when in Neutral and I press the pedal it'll make a noise, but when it's playing up and I then press the pedal in neutral it makes no noise. If it was a shaft after the HST unit would that not have the same problem at all times?

Thanks for reply. Cover is already off and I forgot to say that the clutch is perfect. The issue is with the trans itself.

    B7100 HST problems (another one)

Hi All, New member here from Wales in the UK. Please bare with me on this one as I am new to hydrostatics, very mechanically minded, just new to HST stuff. I bought an old '83 (I think) B7100 HST 4x4 from family, they had bought it about 2-3 years ago, used it for an hour and set it aside...
