How to "finish" loader bucket after repairs

I have a 48-inch bucket off of a LA272 FEL that is going to be repaired ( bent cutting edge, side panel) and I will have them add a couple of chain hooks. Is it reasonable to ask the shop to get it to a "paint-ready" state and what does that involve? If that happens, what should I do to protect the new metal from rust? Prime and paint with rattle cans? Powder coat? If not, what should I do to prep the bucket for new paint? I'm very new to this aspect of tractor ownership so I'd appreciate any advice to get it to a state where its going to last awhile. BTW, I didn't do the damage to the bucket as I bought it that way. TIA!

Prime and paint, nothing fancy as you'll buff off some of the paint with normal use.

I find Implement paint to be pretty durable. Recently, I had a metal shelter that needed painting. I bought a cheap cordless sprayer - not expecting much. I was super pleased with how well it worked. It's cheaper to buy paint by the quart or gallon than rattle cans.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't be paint ready if it's being repaired. They may also paint it for you. They just need to make sure the yuse the right version of Kubota Orange for your tractor if you want it to match, but black or grey would probably be ok as well.

My welder always does an initial coat of primer before i get stuff back. Prevents rust from starting.

I cover it with Farm & Implement paint - usually rattle can.

I assume its already painted and unless they do something funky to remove the old paint thats all it "needs". Pin it on and put it to work.

Powder coating a bucket will require a curing oven large enough for the entire bucket. Not an option most of the time. Primer and paint to match Is the best way to go. Don’t over think it. Put it to work.
