I have a 48-inch bucket off of a LA272 FEL that is going to be repaired ( bent cutting edge, side panel) and I will have them add a couple of chain hooks. Is it reasonable to ask the shop to get it to a "paint-ready" state and what does that involve? If that happens, what should I do to protect the new metal from rust? Prime and paint with rattle cans? Powder coat? If not, what should I do to prep the bucket for new paint? I'm very new to this aspect of tractor ownership so I'd appreciate any advice to get it to a state where its going to last awhile. BTW, I didn't do the damage to the bucket as I bought it that way.
TIA!
