My wife informed me that here purse was wet when she picked it up off the floor of my truck the other day.

Sure enough, the floor was soaked.

My initial thought was a clogged AC drain, so I put it on the hoist and ran a wire up the drain hole and got nothing.

Coolant level was fine, no “sweet smell” was eminating from the dash either…..

Now I am stumped……I type it into the "google machine” and sure enough, AI to the rescue (BTW I hate/fear/am afraid of AI) (And whatever you do….DO NOT READ THE BOOK “CODE RED”….very depressing/frightening/scary)

Anywhoo……….It appears that there is/was some sort of “alignment widget” for the windshield that the factory used to install it, and the gasket has gone south.

To test it, I used the hose, and after I sprayed about 5,000 gallons of water in/on it the rear carpet was drenched….

I tried to use my “Big Ass” fan to dry it out for 3 F’ing days….but it was basically "doing nothing.'

So being the impatient prick I am, I got my tools out and started “hacking and slashing”…….and a few hours later…….This…...

I have a Chevy Colorado crew cab that had a leak in the high brake light seal. Water got through, ran down both C pillars, then to the sill forward to the floors. Both floors were soaked, but I couldn't tell because I had WeatherTech floor liners; they were nice and dry.
It was winter but above freezing. I used a fan, electric heater and dehumidifier a few days in the truck until it finally dried out.

I think I would have stopped at 2500 gallons of water; but, to each their own.

I've had success vacuuming the free water out, then place a dehumidifier and run the drain through a floor plug.

What is your solution to stopping the water, new windshield..just so you get a new seal??

Nope…a glob of RTV should take care of it for the next 21 years…..I hope.

Hahah…my wife was spraying it like I told her too, but I’ll be damned if I could feel any water under the dash.

Turns out, the water was running UNDER a rubber membrane so my hands couldn’t feel it. By the time I realized what was happening, the damn rear carpet was basically floating.

Semper Fi man!

I maybe could have tried that, but sometimes you just gotta bite the bullet.

I have about 6'ish hours into it for the R&R, and it took about 1 full day to dry out.

So basically it was “soup to nuts” in about 26 hours total. Not too horrible I guess (y)

When my 2016 Ford Explorer windshield leaked, I dropped it off at the dealer for repair. They found the leak and fixed it, but it took about 10 days for the new carpet to arrive and another day to install it. I purchased the Ford extended warranty toward the end of the factory warranty, and when that extended warranty ran out, I purchased another. The SUV had just about 90K on the odometer, and last week they replaced the water pump and several other engine-related parts, and installed a new electronic steering rack. Got it back, and everything was fine for a day, and then the air conditioner stopped working. The cause was a failed compressor. Should have it back sometime this coming week.
