We had hard gusty winds Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday when I headed out to block up some wood that I pulled out earlier this winter I came upon I pine top that had blown out from an old weevil fork. It was laying in the trail and heading up to where I stash my summer implements. There's two Rear Blades, a LandPlane, a Box Blade, and Carry-All up there. Oh-no

But luckily all had escaped unharmed. A clean up job for later.

I like to cut my logs about 24' and I block them at 18"

One thing I like about this FrostBite grapple is that I can grab and firmly hold small stuff.

Jealous of you guys who burn wood and actually have trees 😆! I have 5 acres and all of maybe 3 trees, not counting the row of cedars that have grown up along the fence line/power lines. I have to really work for my wood!!

Trustable, how about a flanged bushing/bearing? Then drill the bushing for a pin. Or shorten the bushing and use a couple washers and nut & bolt.

Oh that’s a good idea, thanks! I ended up ordering 2 from messicks but next time I’m in town I’ll pick a flanged bushing up of a similar size and that way have it on hand in case im an idiot and don’t secure it right again. That being said I’ll be running a zip tie through it so if it does come out the snowblower doesn’t fling it somewhere out of site. I’m sure I’ll run it over with the mower come spring/summer.

I’m glad that the tree missed all the implements! Also, That is a killer setup for cutting firewood!

Used the Kubota and the Leinbach 3-Point Crane attachment
to lower into place the base of a soon-to-be sauna.
The base is 40x80.50, 4x6 rough cut timber and plywood
construction, too heavy to maneuver by hand.

Yes, the crane was Kubota Orange when I restored it, but the sun!

Took down a dead doug fir at the horse farm. No drama there.

Not looking forward to untangling this one...

I did the after Winter community road maintenance. I cleaned up the edges with my rear blade.

Then, I switched to the grader/scraper. First, I used the scarifiers since there were quite a few potholes. Then, put them up and ran the grader/scraper without the scarifiers. Everything was going fine until I was finishing the last pass. Both welds broke on the front blade on the grader/scraper. Oh, well, I'll add some reinforcement this time. One weld failed previously. But, I got what I wanted done, so I'm not complaining.

A neighbor took pity on me to help get the blade and mount in the bucket. I don't know how heavy it is, but it was a lot easier with help.

I spent an hour or so picking up branches and sticks blown down by a couple of high wind events over the last couple of weeks. Got most of them picked up, but had to give the ol' back a break. Probably get the rest tomorrow or Sunday if the weather cooperates.

That one is going to be way more interesting than the first. At least, by the looks of it, you probably won't need a saw to get the base down on the ground but the top looks like it is wedged in there pretty good.

Please post a video or narrative of how you get this mess down. Is your excavator large enough to get that down or will you have to cut/pull it out.

Be safe! I would have to hire that out to someone that knew what they were doing and had proper equipment, the trees in my part of Texas are generally not that tall so I don’t have experience with that kind of situation. I do have a couple of dead large Live Oaks that need to be limbed up so I don’t end up like Governor Abbot!

Orange and yellow (rental) playing nice today. Running a line for a new hydrant. Site prep work as part of greenhouse project as a retirement gift for my wife.

MUD SEASON!@!@!!~
Got stuck in the mud today (sorry no pictures).
Flat ground, turf tires, FEL on, weight bucket on back, 4WD low, diff lock engaged, going nowhere. Had to fully dump the bucket, lift the front wheels out of the mud and push backwards with the bucket while slowly in reverse. Took about five goes at it to inch it out. The wife is not happy about the ruts - right between the swing set and kids pool. Drainage project is a definitely on top of the Honey-Do list now.

Used the RTV to pull the little dump trailer up to the house. My stepdaughters summer wheels and the land plane were in it.

Extended forecast looks okay. It’s about my normal time to change over.

Geddy helped.

Planning on a load of crusher run for the driveway shortly.
