Some more of our local wildlife. Safely relocated from the kitchen outside into the garden. It's a huntsman, about 4" across. They hurt if they bite but not venomous.
Went sailing the other day off Santa Cruz. This is the end of the pier being repaired. several hundred feet fell off, with a restaurant on it, last year and went south, literally. They are stabilizing the remain part.

Driving across the dam at our pond today to refresh the wood chips on a seating area, I noticed this weird looking sort of turtlish thing about 20’ offshore. Stopped to check it out. Looked like a snapping turtle with a very long tail wrestling or mating with another turtle being held upside down underwater by the top turtle.
My 30 year old son watched the video (link below) and said if we have a bunch of little turtles in the next couple months, they were mating. If we’re missing a big turtle next week, they were fighting. He’s a really smart guy.

The Shenandoah, iced over a few weeks ago during our cold spell. I have been living here for over 20 years, and I have NEVER seen so much ice on this river!
Took this a couple days ago skiing at Big Sky. We skied down the backside of that peak up there. Pucker factor was 10+…but at 67 I did well. My son and niece were with us and they looked better than me…
#3 Son sent this earlier today. It's his back yard about 3 miles from me.
