I'm overhauling the M4500DT's steering booster. I can get most seals from Kubota but not the rod wiper. There's no Kubota part number. The gland assembly containing it is unobtanium (and was USD$900). The existing wiper is munted. There are some tiny letters and numbers on the seal (photo below) but really hard to be sure what they are.

EDIT Sorrysorrysorry the correct OD is 33mm!

I'm hoping someone here can help identify a wiper that will do the job, because I've scoured the internet and so far found nothing.

The current damaged wiper is similar construction to an ordinary lip seal complete with spring loaded lip, but I don't know if this is the correct seal for the job.

Thanks for your help!

Are they trustworthy?
Yes they are probably one the larger names in the hydraulic sealing component business. I use them and Allegheny York for the most part when sourcing aftermarket seals.

I am not sure who is the best to source from in Ontario but I can ask my colleague that lives in Ontario if he has a recommendation the next time I speak to him.

The last wiper seals I bought for my New Holland backhoe I got from orings and more. Very fast, reliable shipping.

Thanks guys. Sorry, I made a complete tit of myself... the wiper OD is actually 33mm not 34 (got confused with a different seal). I've corrected the drawing.
However based on your input:
@Kennyd4110 @ruger1980 I checked out Hercules, that's easily the best seal finder website Ive ever seen but it doesn't have 33 (or 34) OD wiper unfortunately.
@GreensvilleJay that looks like an ordinary lip seal, I think wipers are more specialised. However, if I can't find any wiper seals I'll look in that direction (s/s spring as per your example).
@Old Machinist Tried O-rings and more, drew a blank there but thanks for suggesting them.

@#40Fan thanks for the suggestion, I've now looked there, huge range but nothing my size (common refrain when I'm clothes shopping too... :)

Definitely metric. The booster seems is so like a Vickers booster design that I did wonder about the possibility.

LoL thanks! Those seem to be rotary seals. I think the wiper seal is a specific design of seal, so I have been hunting in that direction. If I can't find something designed as a wiper, I'm attracted to your idea about a lip seal with s/s spring as a fall-back.

Thanks for your help!
That diagram looks like the existing, a spring-loaded shaft seal. That's what I'd use; it's not super important. For some reason 22x33 wipers seem to be extra rare.

Thanks for those suggestions. Definitely not any imperial size. I may have to go with an ordinary lip type oil seal if none specifically designed as wipers are forthcoming.

I found this part number in my suppliers catalogue but it doesn't show up anywhere else S022033070

I'd go with the closest press in steel/polyurethane wiper I could find.
Here's their catalogue for hydraulic seals. Sealing Solutions

Are you measuring the seal or gland with the dimensions you provided?

@trevoroni @#40Fan yes, measured rod diameter 22mm, housing ID 33mm. I haven't given up (yet) on finding a proper wiper seal. Thanks to the input from everyone here, its opened up a much broader range of possibilities so if I can't find anything, it probably doesn't exist.

If I couldn't find the correct size, but could find the next millimeter smaller one easily, I'd have a ring/bushing made to take up the difference between the gland bore and smaller O.D. seal. That seal doesn't take much, if any abuse, and would easily stay in the ring/bushing.

This story resembles what occurred to me. My M4700DT developed a leak….and the steering cylinder had been superseded. I ended up having to pay $2K+ for the updated cyl and labor.

Bite the bullet. At least you’ll have a cyl for which parts are available for the future….
