From the looks of the tires (if they're still the originals) the tractor certainly hasn't seen much abuse. That will be a cute little parade tractor all dolled up. Or even used and kept in its original work clothes as is!! If mice haven't found a way into it, it probably won't take too much effort to get it running again. Most people I know would be proud to have that in their tractor lineup!!!

Well I have decided to dig in a bit and at least get it running. I may decide to go as far as keeping it for a little garden tractor if it's not too involved. Drug it out a bit and started a little dismantling. I will drag it over to the house in the next week or so so I have access to water, compressed air and an array of tools to see where it takes me.

The nice thing about machines like/similar to yours is that they are/were pretty simple to work on.

I have a friend that has an old Ford that I have gotten started a few times after sitting for years and years….

One of the nice things is that the Tractor Supply near us keeps a pretty decent selection of “spare parts” in stock. Lots of carb and ignition parts available…..(at least for older Fords anyhow…… )

Even had a 6 volt battery in stock one time……..

It is an old 6 volt and will need a battery. Interesting thing is that it has the hand crank option and I found the old hand crank for it in the corner of the barn. That will be useful for turning over the engine once I add some old Marvel Mystery Oil to the cylinders.

Here's hoping you find it much easier to get it running than anyone would expect!! Like @RWS mentioned, there just isn't a whole lot of complicated systems on these ol' tractors. If you can get it to turn over..... it will run!! Fingers crossed....!!!

Nearly all vintage tractors of the era had manual starting means.

Be advised that long idled flathead engines are notorious for sticking due to rust in the valve guides.

Take your time and don't force things.

As that tractor sits right now in the picture you posted $200-500 at best. If anyone thinks $2-3000 then, I have a backyard full of tractors they can buy. Non running, unrestored, not extremely rare antique tractors don’t have a lot of value. Everyone thinks they do, but buyers don’t.

If it were in this area, I would give $2000. for it in a heartbeat!!
