Beef up fork/SSQA interface or not?

Awww... and nothing about my crappy paint job? Why hold back now?

Beef up fork/SSQA interface or not?

Thanks MCMXi.... my tractor will fail before that SSQA attachment will. That was a completely unexpected but wildly entertaining romp down the IK Brunel rabbit hole. Lotsa of fascinating history and innovation in there. The 1840s vacuum powered train was kinda out there but my favorite part...

Beef up fork/SSQA interface or not?

I had the steel already so i did one side last night and the other this AM. Ha! Add weight? Nice troll... the added steel reinforcements maybe totaled 3lbs which is negligible. I probably went overkill on it but now I won't have to worry about anything more than the "already lame lifting...

Beef up fork/SSQA interface or not?

Ye of more experience than I... please weigh in on this mod or improvement. I lucked into a good deal on a set of Caterpillar SSQA front forks. When I attach them to the front of my tractor via SSQA, the top of the SSQA plate has - to my eye - less of a contact patch than I would preferand...

    Bro-tek wheel spacers

My CL and FBMP listings are absolutely filled with wheel spacers for CHEAP! Maybe start there? My problem is finding a match. I regularly see lots of listings for the 6x5.5 as this must be very common for trucks out there. But I need the 6x6 for my tractor's rear wheels and these so far have...

    Occasional trailer-use risks (forgetfulness)

    And don't ask me either!!

    Occasional trailer-use risks (forgetfulness)

I looked into this and the cost was significantly more. Also the tongue jacks and handles took up more space back there on each side and was more conspicuously in the way. Plus if you lower the front tongue jack down very low and then maximally extend the rear stabilizers that I added, you can...

    Occasional trailer-use risks (forgetfulness)

That video has certainly made the rounds over the years. I bet it has done more good than the owner can appreciate in terms of being a cautionary tale for others. Hollow consolation though it is

    Occasional trailer-use risks (forgetfulness)

I got these from etrailer for less than I could have sourced steel and built them. I welded them to back of my 7x16 for the exact purpose you are looking for.

Snow plowing using blade with rubber edge

That's good to hear. I got a 12ft piece at Lowes for $3 since it had a bit of cosmetic forklift damage. This gives me two pieces to work with. I hope to give it a shot on Sunday along with grooving my tires.

Snow plowing using blade with rubber edge

Older post (Jan 2025), I know, but I found it when searching OTT for info and figured I'd add my $0.02 and questions to it here to keep it all in one place in the event that others are researching plastic/poly blade edges like me. Plus the OP is also in SWVA just like me! I got in my first day...

    B2672 front blade hydraulic help

I wish. It is uphill on the way out and fairly steep too. But the Kubby on R4s knocked it out without issue. I was shocked!! One run uphill pushing off to the side and then a downhill run pushing to the other side left only quick clean-up pass down the center. Still a bit of a learning curve...

My first shot at it with the new-to-me front plow that I added hydraulics to.

    B2672 front blade hydraulic help

Finally got a chance to use the front blade. WOW! What a game changer! Next on the list is tire grooving to aid in traction.

    Grapple University

I'm back. I have spent a ton of time doing research and patiently watching the CL and FBMP listings. I have a fairly local almost new LandPride SGC0660 available to buy. I have yet to make contact with seller. The big selling points for me are the LP name and reputation along with a 250lb...
