    New engine advise

I suppose that depends upon ones definition of "good reasons." I do not consider government meddling "good reasons." Again, my earlier post: "Absent government regulations, methinks that manufacturers would design and build diesel engines (and just about everything else) according to market...

    New engine advise

Interesting but I fail to see how the low HP, non emission engines are being "propped up" by government legislation as such engines are the ones NOT covered by emissions regulations. Have you any conception how much more your 2501 would cost if government legislation required it to have HPCR...

    New engine advise

Don't think I've missed anything and confused by your question. FWIW, the first partial sentence was deleated. Not sure how it reappeared unintentionally. Re-read previous post ignoring first partial sentence while focusing on the last paragraph.

    New engine advise

If true, why do tractors with HP ratings below emissions requirements not have common rail fuel injection, engine controllers, DPFs, DEF, etc? "Not even close to debatable"??? FWIW, I've owned and/or operated dozens of mechanically injected tractors and have found all suitable for intended...

    New engine advise

In that case, why not just find a suitable sma High pressure common rail injection is one thing DPFs and DEF, quite another. Absent government regulations, methinks that manufacturers would design and build diesel engines (and just about everything else) according to market demands. Such has...

    Smaller tractor options

You need something larger than a BX. I would look for a good Ford 860/861. Even a 660/661 would work in your case and use less gasoline but they are more difficult to find. I would not recommend the diesel versions of either 861 or 661 for multiple reasons. Another alternative would be a MF...

Such nonsense is used to comply with governmental emissions regulations.

    New engine advise

2.5 L. Not sure if it is still made. It has not been used in cars for decades but might still be used in boats, etc. FWIW, My 2025 30KW Kohler genset uses a GM derived 2.2L turbocharged NG/Propane . The short block is GM and the cylinder head, etc., is made by (for) Kohler (now Rehlko)...

    Tire helper

I simply adjust the jack used to lift the machine to studs to the wheel holes. Works every time.

M7060,.. Are wheel weights a must & a creeper gear?

Yes, creep range is just fine for loading/unloading from trailer. It is also ideal for pulling your tobacco setter and similar easily pulled implements that demand very low ground speed.

M7060,.. Are wheel weights a must & a creeper gear?

Tobacco was once the cash crop on small hill farms in the Ohio River valley (and elsewhere). Tobacco plants were/are germinated in a seed bed and subsequently transplanted into the fields where they are cultivated. In decades past, farmers would use a tobacco "setter" (transplanter) to set the...

Newbie PTO and Brush Cutter operation

Not familiar with 3902 but it is always adviseable to return engine to idle before turning PTO off on any tractor with a PTO brake to avoid unnecessary wear of the PTO brake.

M7060,.. Are wheel weights a must & a creeper gear?

Absolutely no idea why anyone would need or even want to use creep range when pulling a disc harrow???
