    Main Bearing Case Side Marks

Actually, I think I've got it! First, I believe the side marks are the casting marks? They are on the opposite side of stamped numbers the match the split case correctly. And that is the way it works for the rear bearing case to have the mounting holes for the end flange facing the flywheel. And...

    Main Bearing Case Side Marks

I am a little rusty searching this forum, so this may have already been addressed somewhere. I am reassembling a D950 from a B7200HST, and the service manual says "install the main bearing case with their side marks toward the flywheel." And then "Be sure to install main bearing 1 with its oil...

Identifying part number for D950 Crankshaft

Thank you! I wish there was an encyclopedia of early B-Series subcompact Kubota tractors and the engines. They are great machines, and easy to work on. But lots of non-Kubota applications (including marine and generator). Says a lot about the quality of the power plant.

Identifying part number for D950 Crankshaft

The wrong crankshaft (on the left) has the pulley end (extending from the front main bearing) with threads, and then splines on the end, and is longer. The correct crankshaft (on the right) has the splines and then the threads at the end; and is the shorter one. If anyone has a D950 that has the...

Identifying part number for D950 Crankshaft

I bought it on eBay almost 2 years ago; it was not misrepresented, because evidently it does fits some variations of the B7200, as it was advertised. It was my mistake, not verifying the part number. And I almost made the same mistake again! I just don't have access to the other B7200 models to...

Identifying part number for D950 Crankshaft

Both crankshafts have splines, and threads; the issue is that they are reversed on one from the other. What I posted was the WRONG one for my B7200HSD; what I am posting here is the CORRECT one. I am thinking the other one is for a piece of Jacobsen, Onan, or Bobcat equipment? But I REALLY need...

Identifying part number for D950 Crankshaft

I purchased a used crankshaft on ebay, then later realized that the pulley end was a different configuration than for my B7200HST. The splines are at the tip rather than threads at the tip. I have since bought the correct crankshaft, but now need to identify the first one in order to sell it. It...

    New Crankshaft on B7200HSD D950

I rebuilt the D950 on my B7200HSD a few years ago, but I made the mistake of having the crankshaft suraces welded up and turned down to save a few hundred bucks. The machine shop warned me of the risk of cracking it, and that came back to bite me after about a year and a half of light use. The...

    b7200hstd steering

Problem solved! Farmland Tractor Supply in Tanget, Oregon was able to special order a bunch of steering shaft and ballnut assemblies for a B6100; it was identical, except the shaft was 2 1/4" longer than for the B7200. I made a spacer bushing to take up the additional length, and it worked...

    b7200hstd steering

Thanks Vic! That's good info; I've also seen the idea of drilling and tapping the steering post, adding a grease zerk and pumping grease into the post around the shaft until it comes out around the top rubber bushing. I assume those steering shaft/ball nut assemblies you dug out were snapped up...

    b7200hstd steering

I may be on to a shop in Oregon that modifies the steering shaft and ball nut for B6200s (if they can get those parts) for other B-series, including the B7200. I'll post later if it works out!

    B7200 Cooling Fan

That's what I was thinking, but I didn't want to order the part without knowing for sure. I just found it listed as 310mm, which is 12.2". Just as you said, someone has cut this one down.

    B7200 Cooling Fan

Does anyone know the diameter of the stock cooling fan on a B7200? I've had some overheating problems, and my fan blades look shaved down; they are almost 3 inches smaller than the fan shroud. I can't find anything else wrong.

    B7200 Fan Pulley Counterweight

It wasn't in my shop manual, but my local Kubota mechanic found in his that there is supposed to be a single punched dot on the front of the the pulley hub, and it should line up with the timing mark on the crank gear. Mine was almost worn off because someone had failed to use the washer under...

    B7200 Fan Pulley Counterweight

I am finishing a rebuild on the D950 for my B7200HST. I noticed that the fan pulley on the front end of the crankshaft is counterweighted. Does it matter how it is aligned on the crankshaft splines? If not, why is it counterweighted? I can't find any reference to it in the service manual.
