    Boom Lever Assembly L3940

Pretty straight forward. You can see the piece below the rubber boot. Make sure it isn't just a loose cable coupling. If it's the part, pull the rear wheel and access through inspection panel. Nothing difficult.

    Boom Lever Assembly L3940

My tractor is 6 years old with 465 hrs of snow blower use. I have an L2190 blower. My boom lever failed for the third time this past week. Roughly every 150 hrs or so. While on warranty the dealer fabbed a brace on the part when it failed and we re-welded it the second time but this round we...

    Removing shoes from snowblower

It will wear the cutter bar on the bottom of the blower. I have a L2190 and have replaced it a couple of times. Cost of the bar is around $100. You will get a tighter removal of snow. Sounds like you may want to consider a drag blade if you want it really tight.

    Shear pin misery

I was referring back to 07Wingnut's original post about Grade 1. He noted they were soft. Grade 8 shear well, as I imagine Grade 5 would at a lower point. Here's an article on Grade 5 vs Grade 8. Depending on application a Grade 5 may be better for a larger diameter bolt to insure "shear", I...

    Shear pin misery

I use Grade 8 bolts, recommended by my cousin that sold bolts his entire life. They have needed pulling strength but no shear strength which works great. Never had one cause a problem and I have used them 6 years in both my Kubota and my walk behind Honda 1132 blower. (Honda shear bolts are...

    correct snowblower operational sequence

No bind height that I am aware of. I have 6 years on my L3940 w/blower and it is great. The Kubota blower only raises to about 6". I run float mode a lot which has caused an issue with the float bracket. Just replaced it and the new part is twice as beefy. Kudos to Kubota for the upgrade. I...

    L3940 w/L2194 Snowblower working on a driveway

We had a late snow after all the roads had cleared and the weather warmed up, the late snow melted and a cold snap ensued with an additional 54" of snow over the next week. The melt caused a sheet of ice to form under the fresh snow and it left about an inch or more of ice. There just wasn't...

    L3940 w/L2194 Snowblower working on a driveway

It hasn't been an issue, although it does leave a tire imprint on the edge of the snow. in icey conditions it may provide a bit of traction I imagine. I hadn't truly thought about it but I can recall the tire track on a straight plow run. I have attached a picture of a straight cut into a...

Problem with using 4wd all the time?

Not sure I'd worry about wearing it out in 4wd in loomy soil etc with regard to the transmission, my dealer indicated to me the biggest wear it in 4wd they see on tractors left in 4wd alot is the front hubs/seals wear more quickly. Sounds like you're on track with switching to it when you need it.

    L3940 w/L2194 Snowblower working on a driveway

Thanks, it does a great job. A neighbor just said I can use his enclosed garage so I'll have some good space to work on it now. New front fenders are in and being picked up Wednesday. Hope the chains will clear them, looks like they should. I have the chains set up pretty tight so they don't...

    L3940 w/L2194 Snowblower working on a driveway

Thanks Vic, it does a great job and wouldn't be without it after having a cab and heater for snow removal. The electric chute angle adjustee worked well all year but it froze in severe cold (I think) because it blew fuses and wouldn't seem to operate even with manual assist. Once it warmed...

    L3940 w/L2194 Snowblower working on a driveway

Here's a video I made to send to my neighbor that needed me to plow his driveway during New Year break. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQQLvixSY_Y&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL He left it until the morning the family was going to be at the house for New Year and I got the panicked call when...
