Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

See i do have a BH on my B2601 and it is an invaluable implement for me, at least where I am now. I’m not sure I would need both tractors, plus I was thinking of using the B2601 as a trade or selling it and using that money to pay down a bigger tractor. I called Messicks and am going to try to...

Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

@RCW I don’t think I would keep the B2601 if I moved up to a bigger machine. I really like the idea of the MX cab, but it doesn’t seem like I can get a backhoe with it. If I want a cab and a backhoe I think I have to go with a grand L. If I want an MX, it will have to be an open-station. My...

Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

I did a little research and there’s a dealer a couple of hours from me out in PA (Messick’s) and it seems like they have a number of the L and MX series tractors on the lot. I’m going to see if I can take a drive out there this Saturday.

Were those all ‘cab’ models. I only ask because “wiper fluid” is listed, which seems like such a small detail. Unless that means something else than what I’m thinking of.

Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

OK thanks. I am not sure of the round bale situation yet. We have always just gone with regular bales because we were handloading them into a trailer. Now we have a hay loft above the barn to store about 500 regular bales (and a hay elevator) so we might stay with those. I think cost wise...

Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

Thank again to all the replies. It definitely gives me more information to work with, which I appreciate. Are there any "local" dealers that have a decent inventory where I can go and actually see the machine (Like a L2502 or 3302)? The one dealer near me (up in Newton) never has much...

Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

About 6 acres of this property is wooded and I would like to, at a minimum, clear a bridle path through it. It is technically three separate 7+ acre lots. About 10 acres of it is farmed by a local farmer for corn/soybean and the rest is pasture/lawn. I have a Scag ZT for mowing. I love my...

Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

Appreciate all the feedback. While I closed on the property back in July, I’m not officially moving in until May 2025, so I have a little time to do some research on getting a bigger tractor. Just for kicks I drove by my local Kubota dealer. They are a very small dealer and rarely have any new...

Thinking about going from B2601 to L series

Hi everyone. I’ve had my B2601 for a couple of years and it’s been a great machine for my current property (only 2 acres, very rocky/wooded. We recently purchased a bigger piece of land (22 acres) that is a lot more open. It also has a 1/4 mile crushed stone driveway. I was considering moving...

    Chain link fence install DIY?

Thanks Trimley We definitely want the two sections of aluminum fence because they are more outward facing. I went to the Hoover Fencing website and they have a good calculator on material costs. Based largely on my drawing, it looks like the chain link material cost would be $6500 and the...

Bit or auger type for post hole digger

Mossy dell, I'm curious which route you ultimately chose. I'm considering doing a fencing job at home that will require about 50 post holes dug, and was wondering if I could justify to myself buying an attachment for the B2601. NJtool - not sure where in NJ you are, but I'm up north in Sussex...

    Chain link fence install DIY?

THanks jyouts. I read about machines that drive the posts in, but I don't know if they would work where I live. There are rocks from basketball-size up to office desk size everywhere. I think even with digging holes with an auger machine, you would still need to do manual labor to get the...

    Chain link fence install DIY?

Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this, but I was looking to fence in a section the land behind my house that is mostly wooded. It would be mostly black chain link (375’) but would want the nice aluminum fence (60’) in the two areas that would be viewable from the driveway...

    A dumb 4WD question

Thanks for all the feedback. I didn’t realize there was a diff lock on the tractor. My 2003 Tacoma has the same, and only for use in extreme circumstances.
