    Kubota Paint

I looked up the G1800 and learned it was discontinued in 2000. If you purchased it second-hand, I wonder if it sat outside for a long time and the paint chalked. Maybe post some pictures from different angles. Otherwise we'd all be guessing

    L35 - BT900 Separation and Derusting

CONTINUING THE WORK I've been delayed a bit with various things, but still making some progress. Not all dealers stock Kubota paint and I prefer to use that even though the price is egregious. I used Kubota Dark Grey: --Quart Part number 70000-73358 and --Rattle can Part number 70000-00210...

    L35 - BT900 Backhoe Swing Overhaul

I honestly don't know what kinds of abuse my machine went through to have so much rust on it. But those days are finally over. And as for OSPHO, I would recommend it for ease of use - but too early to tell if any further rusting will occur. I'll likely report on that next year. The most I...

Rear tire fill - your thoughts appreciated

Great ideas and discussion - thanks all to everyone. I'll give this topic some further thought including how I plan to use the machine with and without the backhoe.

Rear tire fill - your thoughts appreciated

Good question - thank you. I'm just looking for alternatives. To date, I do not have a ballast box or wheel weights since I've always had the backhoe connected

Rear tire fill - your thoughts appreciated

As I am nearing completion of my project: https://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/threads/l35-bt900-separation-and-derusting.77280/ I am contemplating different kinds of fluids for the rear tires (15 X 19.5 NHS) Using the formula from RimGuard...

    L35 - BT900 Backhoe Swing Overhaul

Nice job my friend! I think your advantage is that your tractor doesn't appear to have been at the bottom of a lake! I swear mine was with all the rust it had. What are you thinking regarding the trunnions? a) cut them off and weld on new ones b) shave them down and weld on like a pipe that...

    L35 - BT900 Separation and Derusting

Here are other things used in this project. The most valuable tool is this Optrel PAPR system for grinding and blasting. It will save your lungs. This can be found on Ebay for about $350 The brush used on the Derusto 2000. The Soap Cannon

    L35 - BT900 Separation and Derusting

CONTINUING THE WORK..... At present, I am taking a rest from the grinding, and swearing. I've coated the L35 with Ospho, and giving it a couple of days to work its magic before painting. Here's the story: I researched the use of Ospho on the Internet and after several YouTube "experts"...

    L35 - BT900 Separation and Derusting

Interesting @PoTreeBoy I only turned mine around after removing the BH so I could put it in the barn. This makes me think that liquid ballast (or similar) will be needed if operating w/o the BH. Currently my old, beat up tires contain calcium chloride. I'll never use that.

    L35 - BT900 Separation and Derusting

Nice! Glad to hear you were able to separate tractor from backhoe! Part of my problem was not only the horrific rust, but a prior abuser applied some kind of cheap paint everywhere. (never heard of masking things off) That paint got sucked into cracks and crevices and only helped to seal in...

    L35 - BT900 Separation and Derusting

Goodluck @PoTreeBoy It might help you to search threads on "BT900 Refurbishment and Fun". You don't have to remove the backhoe from the L35 to access the swing cylinders. However getting those Release Levers moving again is worth the time.

    L35 - BT900 Separation and Derusting

I also found an excellent company in Florida called G&T Engine Parts https://gtengineparts.com The sales lady was Irene Breshnev and I had the parts in 3 days. They had every part I needed for this project and at a very reasonable price. AND the parts are all OEM Kubota. Below are the parts...
