UDT2 Hydro oil, time versus hours

It has a TAN number but not a TBN, I wrote them an email for a better interpretation on the TAN. From what I can see so far, The synthetics have a number closer to 5 as an indictor for when to change where the current TAN showed a 2.7. I would have to inquire directly to the oem for that number...

UDT2 Hydro oil, time versus hours

I don't perceive a difference in the noise level. I've put decibel meter in my cab and its still seems the same. I use ear plugs and the sony wireless muffs with the noise cancelling that I perceive as more tolerable. A kubota mechanic pointed out a square device running along the tube lines...

    B2650 cold climate engine oil - Rotella T6-5w40 or Semi-synth 10W-30?

I use Mobile 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5w 40. It appears to meet the classifications showed in the manual. CF, CF-4, CG-4, CH-4 or CI-4 https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants/for-personal-vehicles/our-products/products/mobil-1-turbo-diesel-truck-5w-40/

UDT2 Hydro oil, time versus hours

Contrary to the manual I changed the hydro fluid and both filters at the first 50 hours when I first took ownership of the 2650. Fast forward four years and I'm at about 350 hours. I have read recommendations where changing oil annually despite the amount of time put on the machines was a good...

    drive shaft b2650

If the shaft is removable, it has grease points. One on either end. If its the "spline" you're referring to, then no, it sits in hydro fluid.

    rear pto engagement

Thanks, I manually lifted the bars that are the rear hitch and I saw the metal gears move inside a little. I was under the impression it was part of a gear set of sorts. Thanks for the response.

    rear pto engagement

Silly question but, I was just topping off my hydro fluid and I noticed the gears in the fill hole. They are clean, rust free, and dry. I thought to engage the rear pto to keep em lubed. Will that engage those gears I see? Is it OK to engage the rear pto while the backhoe is on. I've never...

Steering Wheel Center is Off Center

I'll agree with the others. I had the same concern not a few weeks ago, brought it to the dealer to check the toe in and steering column. He said the steering wheel placement changes. It's perfectly normal because its hydraulic.

Removing radiator drain plug on B2650

The coolant I emptied from the machine was green. The Kubota Long Life Coolant is also green.

Removing radiator drain plug on B2650

The biggest screwdriver I own is a 3/8” flathead. When I used it, it tore the plastic and I couldn’t loosen the bolt. It looked like it fit. Although its the next size up, the 1/2” is an uncommon size. Most people don’t have one laying around. I read online that some recommended a JIS #3...

    2 year radiator maintenance question

Thanks for the replies that clears things up a bit. I'm going to use the Kubota LLC brand to do the refill. Cheers

Removing radiator drain plug on B2650

I managed to remove the damaged plastic drain bolt by pinching it with my fingers just past the grooves. It came out without any problem and replaced my damaged one with a new OEM bolt. I used a 1/2 flat head screwdriver to remove and replace the drain bolt. Works like a charm.
