I'm just about done my rebuild on my d950 for my b7200.

I bought rotella 15 40 for it. I noticed in the manual it calls for 10 30 and was wondering what everyone else runs.

Is the travelers brand hydraulic fluid OK for the hst transmission.

I run 15-40 in the L3800, but have run straight 30 in our old L3750 for many years. It's really not that big a deal as long as you have oil designed for diesel engines. I'll likely go with a lighter synthetic next change in the 3800...

Hydro oil? Use Kubota SUDT oil! Especially with HST trans!

I use Kubota 15w-40w in my BX25. Have been using RotellaT 15w-40w in my Cummins with no problems.

Agree with Bluegill on the SuperUDT2 in the hydro.

The 15-40 should be fine that's what I run in my D950, great pressure and quiet.
I'll agree don't skimp use Kubota SUDT, other hydraulic fluid is usually too thick to work well.

I use Mobil Delvac 1, it's a 5w40 synthetic made for diesels. (not regular Delvac, although a good oil, Delvac 1 is far superior)
In the cold, they start great! Great soot control, good hot weather performance and viscosity retainment...outstanding longevity, it's a top notch oil. $29/gallon at most truck stops. I change my tractors (L35 and G5200) once a year.
I also use in my newer Cummins and my older chevy 6.5TD which has 280kmi on the clock .

For hydraulic oil, can't beat super UDT2. While expensive, it shouldn't need changed all that much, kubota's done their homework that stuff, cold weather performance is outstanding, I've never had any issue with this stuff. I was having issues with a hydrostat trans in a G4200 Iused to own, changed oil to this....and after a few 10's of feet, issues went away, change oil and filter again to be sure all that old crap was out and havn't had an issue since, well, I sold that one a year or so ago, but it was working perfectly.

Lil Foot, does your oil come on a white bottle or a blue bottle ?
Seems like it used to be in a white bottle, but now I'm pretty sure it comes in blue….. I'd check, but it's 150 miles from here….

I use the Chevron Delo 15w 40, this is a full synthetic blend. I run this in my tractor as well as my F-250. I'm well pleased with the quality and several manufacturer's contract to them for their name brand oils. It comes in a blue bottle also!

The reason I was asking is I have have several friend's who use the white bottle and thought they had the Synthetic oil.

If it's the blue bottle it is the Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 Fully Synthetic

If it is the white bottle it's Shell Rotella T 15W-40 Triple Protection
(the 15W-40 is not a Synthetic oil, the T6 5W-40 is Synthetic)

There is also a gray/silver bottle that is Shell Rotella T5 which is a Synthetic Blend. It is available in 10W-30 and 10W-40

Leave it to Shell marketing to make it easy to mix up the similar blends. I use and have used the blue bottle for several years. Great stuff.

Hoping to save someone the aggravation of grabbing the wrong bottle of oil. :D

You guys ever thought of using Premium Blue? I use it in my 6.7 Cummins.

Yep that is what I use,,

Lubricants seem to be a huge "Hot Button" issue on all Tractor forums :p basically some swear by a brand and other swear at them..

Been a Valvoline and Castrol fan for way too long to change now, I would have felt comfortable with running either in my L3600, when I switched it over to "me" .. I lucked out the PO had kept pretty accurate time/weight markings on the tractor for maintenance but I had no idea of brands.. I made a decision to switch over everything to things that were available easily and locally.

The week I set aside to dump the fluids O'Rielly's happened to have the Valvoline on sale for a pretty darn good price so I bought enough for the next 3 oil changes... If the Castrol had been on sale I would have gone that way :)

I run Rotella 15w-40 in mine DONT use Travelers oil I just did mine with it and living in Maine it was -20 to - 10 for a week and it would not even move, I do not know what was in it before but I just wasted 7 gallons of Tractor supply oil. I put in Super UDT 2 and now have a new tractor. Loader is fast the GST has no hesitation this stuff is worth the money!! :D:D

I tried to do the same, I really really wanted to try the SUDT 2, I searched within 100 miles of the house, that hit 3 Kubota Dealerships... They all used the NH brand.. I could only find 5 gallons of the SUDT 2 within the 100 miles..
Even though my Tractor doesn't require it I had heard stories like yours and wanted to give it a try at least..

I finally gave up :(

I use Amsoil 5w30 Heavy Duty Diesel in the engines and Amsoil Syn tractor trans/hyd fluid for the hyd system.

Don't waste your money on cheap hyd fluid.
