Using silver solder is brazing, it's just silver bearing for use on A/C lines, it's just finer and cleaner than brass or bronze rod.

If it were me, (and it might be someday, I have a B219) I would use Swagelok fittings, good up to 11000 psi. Used them for 20+ years in various research projects without any trouble at all. Never had one leak, and some were at 5000psi. Not cheap, but about the best quality available.

You trust silver solder to 4Kpsi?
Yes silver brazing, AKA silver soldering is much stronger than bronze or brass brazing, and has a much higher temp and pressure deflection difference, If you use a carbide saw blade, or router blade the carbide teeth are silver soldered to the steel body or disk.

Silver brazing, sometimes known as a silver soldering or hard soldering, is brazing using a silver alloy based filler. These silver alloys consist of many different percentages of silver and other metals, such as copper, zinc and cadmium.

The standard for braze joint strength in many industries is a joint that is stronger than either base material, so that when under stress, one or other of the base materials fails before the joint.

I agree. Silver Solder (etc), at least the "good stuff" (SafetySilv in higher % with good cleaning and proper flux) is used in far more strenuous applications all the time. That would be my choice when/if I have to do the same.

I don't think you will find the correct 37 degree flare tool at sears or HF ,all the hardware stores tools are 45 degree. Maybe getting it close with the 45 and then finish forming in the fitting will work but just be aware its not the perfect angle right out of the tool. I know of a couple people on the forum that have purchaced the correct tool and made there own steel lines with no brazing or welding involved.

We're talking about 2 different things here.
There is silver solder.
There is silver brazing rod.
Right?
Yes it's confusing, and I didn't make up the names.
I "normally" would call it silver brazing rod but the "official" name is silver solder, why I have no clue.
The other (your pic) is Lead solder with silver, which they call "silver solder" again.
And yes they are totally different, both in melt temp and strength!;)

Back in the day before retiring from the air-conditioning trade I frequently used both the silver solder brazing rod and wire type. The rod has the flux attached to it similar to a stick electric welding rod while the wire has to be used in conjunction with a separate white paste flux that comes in a jar. I always preferred using the wire with separate flux since you could always add more if required. There might be different grades of the solder but whenever I picked it up I was never asked what type. It did come in different sizes though.
