Evening everyone I have been looking for some time to purchase a Kubota B2320 and planned on financing it through Kubota. The price I was offered was good but all of a sudden I was told if I financed it through Kubota the price goes up another $1000. I thought the zero percent for 60 months was worth it until I look on Kubota's web site and hit the 0 For 60 months add and in the wording it says no charge financing or fees. Well the dealer is adding on $200 for admin fees and Kubota wants another $1000 for financing the tractor through them. I am hoping this will be seen by fellow tractor or potential tractor owners and call Kubota regarding it. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks Rodney

Welcome to the forum.
I think you should say hi before you jump into complaining. That's bad manners.
Have you talked to your dealer? It sounds like the problem is with them.

I just bought a new Kubota using the 0% financing. The dealer took $1000 off the listed price, Kubota another $500 rebate for buying two attachments.

I'm wondering if it's a Nova Scotia thing or a dealer issue?
I'm Sorry, but you poor Canadians get hit with some off the wall and weird fees and taxes!

I'm also wondering if the extra $1000 is Kubota's insurance. I dont remember the cost but I opted out, it was up there! I also had to prove my homeowners insurance covered the tractor which I got from my insurance agent. It did not raise or cost anymore on my homeowners insurance. I also cant use it to make money either, but its just for my enjoyment anyways :D

Hey guys good to see some different replies and not wanting to make any excuse for anyone but the truth is I was offered a price without the 0% and then they said if you want to finance it through Kubota you will have to pay an extra $1000. The list price is what it is and yes I dickered like anyone else and got some money off the list price but when all was done and getting down to the final part regarding price after we agreed on a price they come up with the $1000 if I want the 0%, On there web site it sais NO COST FINANCING. AS for the gentlemen said regarding the say "hello first and don't be negative" well I was not being negative just speaking the truth and asking if anyone else has had that problem. Oh and the other guy your are correct us Canadians do get hit by big sales taxes. 15% on anything new purchased. Thanks again for your replies and I will apologise if I came of negative as I did not mean to, but trying to get question across to get a different view before I take this battle up with Kubota Canada. The bad thing is I am pig headed enough to pass up the deal on buying a Kubota and resort to a GREEN TRACTOR. They make a 2320 but yes I agree its not a Kubota. Thanks again and look forward to your positive replies.

Hello, Truefire, and welcome.

I recommend you email/call around and get some different prices. When I bought my tractor, the $1000 charge for ) financing was there, but the tractor price was negotiable. The dealer made me their offer, but I had three offers several thousand dollars cheaper. Admittedly, there would have been transportation costs, which can mount up (I live in Colorado, and got estimates from Illinois, Iowa, and Virginia, as well as locally). My dealer came down and he and I were happy.

Hey Thanks for the welcome and just in comparison my price on the B2320 was $23,200 plus 15% tax. That price included LA304 front loader and BH65 hoe with a 16" hoe bucket and mechanical thumb. The Kubota insurance is an extra $1100 and they wanted an extra $200 plus tax Admin fee for the paperwork at the dealer. The price above does include the 0% for 60 months but like I said if I wanted to pay cash they would nock another $1000 off the price.

Ah, yes, the insurance. They surprised me with that one right at the end. Either theirs, or I could get my own. $15 a month through Kubota, I think it was $12 a month to add it to my home owners, which didn't cover quite as much.

$15 x 60 months, $900 SURPRISE! Not really though. Ever try financing a car or truck? You buy the insurance the loan company says you will, not what you want to.

Ask them if it's just for the insurance. If it is, it's standard procedure with ANY loan. On a car, the government mandates you already buy insurance, but the loan company mandates you buy MORE insurance. At least in the states......

I have to side with the op, I bought my machine at Union Farm here in Maine, and they told me up front that if I wanted to take advantage of the 0% that Kubota does charge 1000 bucks. I did not think that was all that bad. How much interest would you pay over the term of the note otherwise? I personally thought it was a decent deal. I do not know if they say that it is "cost free". Nothing is cost free. I say pay the grand and get the tractor. You will be really happy with it! Best purchase I ever made!

This was the same when I bought about 6 months ago.

My dealer quoted a $1000 discount for cash (about 9 months ago). All in the wording?

Yes I agree you will save if you take the 0% but they also advertise under the web site No cost financing. They are charging you a fee and yes this making it a cost. I decided to go with my own insurance company as the charge is an extra $90 a year and covers if I smash it up or someone hits me. Also covers if I hit someone else off my property. Cheers and thanks for the reply and I will let you know the outcome. Thanks Truefire

I was quoted a price, once I got serious and asked about payment options I was told there was a $1000 discount for cash. If I wanted the 0% financing it was based on the original price.

Just about anywhere you go in life on any major high dollar purchase there is almost always a price difference between cash and credit. I'd be willing to bet the extra 1000 Kubota charges is set up fees to check your credit and put all the paperwork in order.

Kubota has to pay the office workers in the finance dept somehow...

The Wonderful World of Finance

Read the ads carefully I am willing to bet there is an either/or attached to $1000 or 0% financing

Many Rebates are written that way

If you arrange your own Financing or pay real cash that rebate applies but if you opt for the 0% often times that rebate does not apply..

Things that are often written into ads

The $200 is an Admin fee it covers them doing all the paperwork for you, the $200 is pretty standard in fact now-a-days that is considered low, Yes part of it is extra profit :)

Factory rebate
Factory Financing
Special People rebates (Cabela's, Costco, Military, College, Rail Road etc: etc: often don't apply to most people)
Factory $$$ vs Special Finance rates these often are variable..

Also note that Rebates have nothing to do with the "Dealer" that is from Kubota same as the 0% finance rate, that also means that the Rebate is not a discount, it doesn't effect the Dealers bottom line so still ask for a discount from the Dealer :)

US federal law governs the way these are written and must be disclosed, Franchise Dealers are very very very careful on how this is done..

If you want to e-mail me or PM me the ad I will look close at it for you to make sure...
