Well I just received my first new Kubota, a BX2370 with FEL and the ROPS is too tall to fit inside my garage. I know I should have measured it ahead of time but I forgot to do so and taking it off or leaving it folded over probably isn't the thing to do. I know darn well if I choose to take it in and out of my garage eventually I'll forget to lower it and take out the front of the garage. I was wondering if there's an easy modification or if someone would be gratious enough to trade me a shorter non folding model for my brand new folding version.

Saw this on another post from the Kubota site, any idea if one of these will fit?

Mine is to tall to I thought it would be a pain putting it up and down but it's no problem at all now. Please don't modify it or even drill into it it will make it unsafe and I think void the warranty. I don't know about the non fold one.

First off welcome to the Orange,, Well you might try talking to your dealer about a trade , I doubt he will but you never know.
And as gso said please do not modify your ROPS, I had the unpleasant duty of investigating several fatalities due to ROPS failure on some strip mines. Yes the folding ROPS is a PIA, I have seen more then one guy mowing and using their tractor with the ROPS in the folded down position, not ideal by any means but would still afford some protection I guess.
So in MHO just take 2 min and fold it down when you go to pull in the garage. And that way you can do a quick look around to see if anything is going on with your new baby. One more thing,,, pictures,, we love pictures :D

None of the other models that you show will fit your tractor, or at least non of them are designed to fit.
One note: Your going by the special promotional price that is only available if you provide them with an eligible serial # for the ROPS, the Non eligible price will scare you!

I bought a new, leftover, BX2360 this year only because of the ROPS vs. the BX2370. Much shorter/narrower on the '60. The BX25 has had that taller ROPS for quite a while.

I knew I'd tear something up with the '70 series ROPS, but it does have a nicer seat, and some better controls.

For a few dollars, and your machine, we might be able to work something out....;)

You'll get used to it - its a great tractor.

Thank you for the warm welcome, looks like a great site to be on. As for the ROPS, I'm just afraid that one day I'll forget it's up and when pulling into my garage be quickly reminded.

flati,
You'll probably only do it once!
It's just one of those feelings that you don't soon forget! I hit a low hanging tree with my B7100 and it had the front end off the ground and pointing to the sky in one quick hurry!
At that point any damage that you might have done to either the house or the tractor becomes a later concern. First concerns are, did anyone see me do that, is my heart still beating normally, and do I have a fresh change of underwear available that I can get to in a quick hurry! ;)

On a more serious note if I may give a piece of advice,,,, Low hanging branches,,, do not try to push them out of the way with your hand while your traveling along,, yes it hurts bunches, and you say lots of naughty words  and the Doc keeps asking,,,, how did you do this again?

Just hang a cow bell or something on an extension sticking out about 3' from the door entrance so it will hit the ROPS. That way when you hear it tinkle, you will have 3' to stop and lower your ROPS. That would sure beat you hitting the door frame and taking a tinkle in your pants.;-)

wolfman,, " you'll only do it once". I wish!!! Had an '82 chevy with camper top on it that I left the rear window gate up after getting grociers out of the back. Vehicle was in the garage. next morning, backed out and ""POP'" busted the glass. Said to myself, " won't do that again"... 8 mnths later did the same thing. Said to myself," you need to put a bright red light on the dash that comes on when that lid is up" Did that and never broke another one.

ipz that's funny,, the OL backed through the garage door twice with her Durango because she THOUGHT the door was all the way up. I fixed that I ran a line over a beam to the top of the door and attached a BIG ORANGE ball so when the door goes up then ball drops toward the car, so when the ball is laying on her windshield she know the door is all the way up,,,lol

Have a friend with one of those new Chrysler minivans with the push button open & close lift gate on the back….. she backed out with it up. Talk about an expensive repair- they totaled the van.

Try hanging a sign from the garage door on the top of the bottom section on the inside .When the door is open it will swing down,When shut it will lay against the door.

Make yourself a "Remove before flight" sign that you can hang off the ROPS when in the garage and then hang it on the door when you take it out. Your bound to see it when you come back as a reminder.

dkw121 that is a nice garage. That is just what I need. FLATI, I am all for the idea of just smashing it and getting it over with. In my younger days I probably would have done that myself. However, that is probably not the smartest idea. Is the garage itself too low or just the garage doors? If it is the door, look to see if it can be adjusted to lift higher. Some have an optional high lift kit that opens it more so it lays flat up in the track. The other option would be to see if you could put in a little bigger door if the garage itself is high enough. What ever you do, keep your ROPS on, and upright when using the tractor. I to have seen the dangerous consequences of somebody rolling a tractor without a ROPS.
