Ok I went to my local toy store and seen this

After my drool started to slow down I got to thinking (Yes I hurt myself). If the Lovely Wifey-Poo lets me get it I could use the diverter to power a my shoot deflector with a small ram on my snowblower. Is there a way to reduce the amount of flow? I understand that a small ram will not handle the amount of fluid being diverted.

Yes you can get a flow restrictor. You should be able to get one from Land Pride. If not , I have them. ;)

Come to think of it now, I think Wildfire put an eletric actuator on his chute to change direction if I remember correctly. Maybe he'll be along shortly.

I had a Kubota electric actuator on it and after one season it was fried. Water got in to the motor and caused it to go bottoms up

There are pressure restricters you can put inline to reduce the amount of flow on a hydraulic system. I've used them many times for different applications. They have an adjustable knob on them and work really well.

As for the deflector on a snow blower chute I've used a 12 volt linear actuator many times as well for customers and they've worked flawlessly. I've never had one return. Just fab up a few mounting brackets, run the wires to a two way switch and your off to the races.
Our 5740 has the rear blower but all control are hydraulic.
