LMAO, no wax. What you're not going to make a wax out of it?!?! BAHAHAHAH!!!
It is inside of a 100 quart ice chest. I am guessing 20lbs. It can be prepared like any other meat, I like to cook it in a gumbo, or just over rice. It can be fried or what ever you want to do with it. I do not find it tastes like chicken, there are different types of meat inside. Some white meat, and dark and in between. Each tastes a little different. Some people claim there are 7 different types of meat, but I only see a few different types. How big is that critter? I've never had turtle, how is it prepared? Taste like chicken?
Interesting.... gonna have to try some one of these days.... another item for the bucket list.there are different types of meat inside. Some white meat, and dark and in between. Each tastes a little different. Some people claim there are 7 different types of meat, but I only see a few different types.
I'd like to see- always wanting to add to my field craft skills. You never know when you might get attacked by a giant turtle while you're hungry....I took a bunch of pics in case someone wanted to see how to clean them.
Practice man, I am getting pretty good at cooking. I am no chef, but the family sure likes what I cook.I'm always open to new things. I'd love to try turttle some day. I suck at cooking, I burn water LOL.
Thanks. I have since learned if you dip them in boiling water for a short time the skin comes off real easy and they stop fighting you.I have never eaten turtle but I have caught several of them while fishing in Georgia. The damn snappers would steal my bait when I was fishing for bream. I have never had a problem giving them away though.
Your pictures of how to clean them are great. Thank you! I may try them some day if I ever get back down south.
