Hey guys new to the forum and am considering buying a new mx5100 4wd with a loader within the next week. Really just wondering what you guys think of this tractor and I am also trying to decide between the mahindra 5035 4wd with a loader. I realize this is a Kubota forum but I really want to know what you guys think about the mahindra as well and why I would be better off with either or. I am really wanting the kubota but I am just concerned that the mahindra may out perform the kubota as far as lifting with the bucket and what not. My heart is really wanting the kubota I just really dont know how it stacks up against the mahindra. What are the pros and cons of both tractors??I appreciate all opinions and thanks in advance.

The MX5100 is the best in it class and a lot of tractor for the money. I've been looking hard at 50-55hp tractors lately and have settled on the MX. Great machine!
When I bought my L3800 a couple years ago, I looked at the comparable Mahindra, as I have a dealer just down the road. Mahindra makes a good tractor, but they aren't as refined as Kubota and just a bit rough around the edges.
There's more to it than just what the spec sheet says, the Mahindra out spec-ed the L3800 a bit, but I like the L3800 much better and have no regrets at all...
Kubota will have a much higher resale, trade-in value down the road also.
The MX has a large following and I've not read anything negative about them. I'll be shopping for a low hour used MX5100 in the next couple years.

Pretty much what Bluegill said, I went to our local Mahindra dealer and wasn't interested enough in them to spec one out, I just preferred the refinement of the Kubota. I'm sure Mahindra makes fine machines and the cost will be less and they may even outwork a comparable Kubota, they just weren't for me.
I would recommend trying both out and check your specs, priorities and then you will know which one is for you.

Actually the mahindra is$3500 more expensive than the kubota but it has a few more bells and whistles!!
Like I said, the MX is a Lot of tractor for the money.

There is more to consider than how the two tractors stack up. Kubota has a much larger dealer network, and have been in the US market much longer. For me, the only Mahindra dealership closed a couple of years ago, while the same Kubota dealership keeps growing. I do believe that the Mahindra is a fine tractor, but they don't make all their stuff in-house. Some tractors use Mitsubishi engines, Massey Ferguson makes some of their stuff, etc. Kubota makes all their own tractors, and that means something to me.
I wouldn't be afraid of the MX5100. Even if the Mahindra has a higher lift capacity, I would bet that most owners never reach the point where that makes a difference. It's more important to know how to use what you have, than having the biggest.
In a nutshell, both tractors would serve you well. The real question is which dealership in your area is the better choice. Long after the sting of price is forgotten, you will need them. A dealership that you can work with is worth gold.

Yeah Im kinda thinking Im going to go with the kubota. For some reason it is just so much more appealing to me than the mahindra even though the mahindra has more features. And idk but from what Ive read it is hard to match a kubota when it comes to reliability!!
I love my MX5100. I have the 4X4 hydrostatic, and it is the best tractor I ever used. I had a massey 430 (I think) both where 50 hp. You wont regret the mx5100. I have almost 400 hours on mine. If you have any questions let me know.
Do you find that it is light in the rear end? That is what you mahindra dealer keeps trying to sell me on is that kubota takes a 50hp motor and puts it on a 30 hp frame. I guess he had to have something to try to sell me on it. Also, do you recommend the ag tires?

A Kubota dealer is going to point out its strong points and a Mahindra dealer is going to do the same. Weight is often mentioned by those who sell heavier tractors, but weight is not always a good thing nor an indicator of anything. I find it easier to add weight than reduce it and every brand we have had with a FEL, Kubota, Case and Massey Ferguson has had to have added weight to the back and we use wheel weights or loaded tires as well as ballast on the 3PH.

The Mahindra dealer is very wrong with that statement. My L3800 is basically a 30hp frame with a 38hp motor. But the MX is not! Not even close.
Like Triple said, extra weight is not always a good thing. Proper ballast added where it's needed is much more important!
No, not at all. It is way more stable than my 50 hp massey I had. I think the mahindra dealer is just trying to make up stuff. Go drive both of them and I bet you rather the kubota. The mx-5100 is the same as the mx4700 just with the turbo for the extra power. But it is not the same as the 30 hp tractors. Not even close. It is much bigger than the 30 hp ones.

It sounds like you have made up your mind, to me. You won't regret it, and an added bonus is ORANGE TRACTOR TALK! I have no idea if Mahindra has a forum, but you won't find a better community than here! OTT is the best, hands down.Yeah i believe they are both good tractors but i sure do like that ORANGE

I have a Mahindra 5520 4x4 with ML 255 loader, Farmi JL501 Skidding Winch, 74 inch Land Pride Reverse-Tine Rotary Tiller.
the 5520 works great. had Calcium added to the tires for weight. it has moved and pulled everything so far.
key thing I looked at when deciding:
Hydraulic GPM = 15.1
Loader Lift capacity = 3,200
3-point lift capacity = 5,100
pto HP = 45 hp
transmission type = Synchro-Shuttle
Distance to repair center = 50 miles
Kubota distance = 50 miles
I purchased mine used for under $18,000 with under 200 hours, 165?
