Oh yeah, just rub it in why don't ya! Beautiful work.

Me an my old rough ol' Bridgeport 2J, 17x60 Taiwan industrial lathe, Millermatic 172, Hypertherm plasma, and cramped shop will just have to find a way to make it through. Not bad for a home shop, but I sure wish I had a nice clean and open setup like that. But I did just bring in a nicely dressed Synchrowave 351, so my capabilities are expanding. Now to rig up a nice positioner setup like that. And get a nice big GMAW setup like yours, and, and... oh, who am I kidding...

Paul I hate to be the only one that's critical of your work but the paint didn't match...

I hope you know that was meant as a good natured joke, great work as always and thanks for sharing.

Thanks man. I think your doing pretty good yourself. I didn't get my tooling all at once. I took baby steps, as I worked I put a little aside for tools and kept on working. Before long I had enough to start our business. As they say " it's been down hill ever since" :D

No good for you to play dumb here because you know,re about this stuff than I do lol.

Ha. I didn't take you as being critical of my work. Believe me, there has been people very critical of my work. I've been accused of having to much time on my hands, over restoring, over engineering...... I've read it all lol.
When I was restoring everything for our museum we call Gasoline Alley my local paint supplier would say that if I had to use another colour other than red or yellow I wouldn't know how to spray it lol.

That being said. I try and share my ideas and designs and It would be considered foolish if I expected everyone to like it.

I have drooled over your gasoline alley on more than one occasion. My first mini bake was one of those lawn mower engine ones the next was the Honda mini trail 50 and that was replaced by the ct70 ( red) now you need to find a SL 100 to complete "our" collection. I was working summers and after school to make payments on that 70 @ 13 years old.

Absolutely beautiful work. I can see why people in your area come to you for repairs - they know it will be done right and will be stronger than the original.

I've always enjoyed hearing how guys got their first Honda and thanks for sharing yours. Looks like we have a lot in common. I just loved my first bike which was the Z50 much like the one I restored. Them came the CT70 and that seemed Hugh compared to the 50. I kept going up in bikes until I got to the CB750 Four. They were the best days of my life riding those bikes.
Gasoline Alley was a full ten years work for me and still running our business meant working every weekend and every night. The only time I see the place now is when someone wants to see it. I actually know where there's a SL 100. Only if I had the room

Thanks Ben. Much appreciated. Hey, the only thing we can do is try our best and I do try but you know what they say " You can't please everyone"

Well today I decided to build a double grapple for my OEM bucket on the 5740. I got it started and its an enjoyable project. It will be even more enjoyable if I actually get it to work :D

Can't wait to see a Specialty Repairs version of bucket grapple.
I would be willing to wager after you use it a couple times you will wish you built it years ago. The bx is going to need one too.

Ah this won't be anything fancy. It will be a double grapple added to the OEM bucket. It is a little bit of a challenge because I had added a spill guard to the bucket so now its a little higher than normal for a grapple but I think I may have away around that.
As you can see by the photo I used forks for loading the brush where a grapple would have been great.

I'm sure you have seen the grapples that mount to the pallet fork frame, they look like they would be as good or better than the bucket mounted one.

Yup. Sure have. I really don't use the forks much so that's why I wanted a grapple on the bucket but maybe over the winter I can build one for the forks as well.

If you haven't started cutting the steel yet maybe with a slight tweeking to the plans you could make it easily transferable from bucket to forks.

Maybe mount the grapple to a plate that sandwiches between the tractor QA and the implement.

What are you going to control it with a dedicated valve or a diverter.

I've given it a good bit of thought and I'll got with the grapple on the oem bucket. As I said, It will be a double grapple so I could have one of those grapples removable later on to adapt to the forks and even the forklift simply by sliding them on the forks.
